Former 1st lady Nancy Reagan fell, couldn't up-but she's fine!

This woman takes a lickin' and keeps onnnnnn tickin' !

(CNN) -- Former first lady Nancy Reagan was taken to a suburban Los Angeles hospital "as a precaution" Sunday after a fall at her home, an aide said.

Nancy Reagan shares a laugh with CNN's Anderson Cooper on January 30 before the Republican debate at the Ronald Reagan Library.

The 86-year-old Reagan will remain overnight for observation at a hospital in Santa Monica, California, said Joanne Drake, chief of staff for the Reagan Foundation.

Her office said the former first lady was in good spirits.

"She is doing well and is visiting with friends in her room," Drake said in a written statement issued Sunday night.

Drake told The Associated Press that Reagan is staying in the same room where former President Ronald Reagan stayed after he broke his hip at home in 2001.

Reagan is the widow of former President Ronald Reagan, whose 1981-1989 administration is revered by the current Republican party. The Reagans were married for 52 years before his death in 2004, which followed a decade-long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

It's going to take more than a fall, to get rid of Nancy Reagan!
She is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
I remember the flack she received when it was rumored, SHE ran the Whitehouse- Mrs. President-by consulting psychics and telling the Prez what to do!
She's survived the death of her husband, step-daughter Maureen, was estranged from her bio daughter Patti Davis, the list goes on and on.
And this woman is STILL standing...well she will be after she heals, but u know what I mean.
Talk about a thick skin...
GET WELL FORMER MRS. PREZ...uh Mrs. Reagan!

Being "Juicy" Does Have Its Perks!!

300-lb Man OK After 40-Foot Shaft Fall
source

WASHINGTON — A construction worker who fell about 40 feet down an elevator shaft is nearly unhurt, with no serious injuries. District of Columbia Fire and EMS spokesman Alan Etter said the man, who's about 25 years old, was working on a house under construction in Southeast Washington Friday morning.

The worker, who Etter says weighs more than 300 pounds, was standing on a plywood platform in the elevator shaft at the top level of the house.

The board couldn't support his weight and the man fell 40 feet down the shaft before he crashed into the basement. He broke two more platforms on his way down.

The worker wasn't wearing safety equipment, Etter said.

"It is unbelievable that the guy first of all survived, and secondly survived with what appear to be minor injuries," Etter said.

He said it took a concerted effort on behalf of the fire department to secure the man and get him out of the basement. Etter said he suspects the man was OK because the platforms may have broken his fall.

The man has not been identified, and Etter said the hospital was probably not going to admit him.
