David Winans, Sr.
David Winans, Sr., the gospel great better known in music circles as Pop Winans, has died.
A statement from the Winans family indicated that Mr. Winans passed away quietly in Nashville with wife Delores, with whom he long made music under the name Mom and Pop Winans, at his bedside.
"The Winans Family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers and continued support, but would appreciate privacy at this time," the family's statement said. source*note: according Fox News Detroit TV, funeral has been set for Tuesday & Wednesday (4/14 & 4/16) in Detroit.
