Philadelphia FIRES Cops Gone Wild!

NOT IN THE CITY OF BROTHERLY LOVE!!

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, right, and Commissioner Charles Ramsey, left.

While police brutality may be authorized in New York on the regular...it is NOT tolerated in Philadelphia! Philly's Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey, kicked 4 coppers to the curb, and demoted/suspended the other 4 heathens who thought it would be cute to beat up suspect suspects.

While I'm down for people who break the law to be punished..IT DOES NOT TAKE 8 PEOPLE TO BRING JUSTICE TO CRIMINALS...that's what the courts are for.
If you're not familiar with what I'm talking about..check out the video here:

Philadelphia police officers beating three suspects

IT DOESN'T TAKE ALL THAT!
CAN U SAY ...LAWSUITS??

This *%$@* Has Lost His Mind!!

Wanted: Mental Asylum & Strait Jacket

Police who entered a crime scene in Philadelphia, PA were so sickened and traumatized by what they saw, they're now seeking counseling.

Marquese Lee, 20, killed his two sisters India & Aliah and left their bodies strewn inside the home that looked like a bloodbath!

Police were alerted to the house by his mother Lucille Bevans, who was hit in the head with a hammer by Marquese.
***
This is horrible, horrendous & frightening.
God bless the Bevans family, and I am prescribing shock treatment, a lobotomy, and the gas chamber to Marquese. thank God he's off the street!

Fugitive Caught After 28 Years on the Lam source

PHILADELPHIA (Oct. 25) - A man who escaped from a New Jersey prison 28 years ago was arrested Wednesday at his Philadelphia home, making one last bid to conceal his identity and remain a free man.

"We don't believe in cold cases, we just call them old cases," New Jersey Corrections Department Fugitive Unit officer Ellis Allen said. Maximo

Jurado, 75, was serving a 4- to 10-year prison sentence for a drug offense when he left the state's since-closed Marlboro Camp in central New Jersey. He had served less than four months of his term. Confronted by officers from several law enforcement agencies, Jurado initially insisted his name was "Juan." A few minutes later, when shown a prison photo of himself from 1979, he confessed: "It's me." Jurado was not an especially notorious criminal - though he had several run-ins with the law in the 1960s and 1970s - and his escape didn't get much attention at the time. He managed to avoid capture longer than all but a few people who have escaped from New Jersey prisons. He said he avoided breaking the law and moved around frequently.

Authorities say they tracked him through several states and aliases before catching up with him. Journalists from The Associated Press accompanied the officers who made the arrest. Jurado was being held in Philadelphia awaiting extradited to New Jersey. He will have to complete his original sentence and could get up to five more years in prison if he is convicted of escape.

Remembering the Million Woman March

10 Years After Philadelphia’s Million Woman March, Commemoration Events Scheduled
source

Photographs from Philadelphia’s Benjamin Franklin Parkway 10 years ago on Oct.25 showed to America and the world a sea of women -- mostly black -- marching together in a call for unity and empowerment to tackle issues plaguing women and their families.

Two separate events this week in the City of Brotherly Love will celebrate the spirit of that day of empowerment and encourage black women to continue the quest for self-improvement and improvement of a people, organizers said.

Beginning Thursday at 3 p.m. at Eakins Oval, more than 5,000 women are expected to go “Back to the Parkway” in the event organized by Sistahs of the Million Woman March. That group includes eight of the organizers of the 1997 march, said Asia Coney, one of the march's original planners.

A smaller crowd is expected this year because they did not issue a national call for women to come to this city for this event.

“To borrow a line from our elders, we needed to clean up our own house before inviting other in,” Coney told BlackAmericaWeb.com. Still, several thousand are expected to participate from the region and a few larger cities, she said.

My goodness!
Where has the time gone??
I remember my friends and I packed into the van, and headed to Philly from Detroit. We drove through torrential rains, we were driving blind that's how heavy the rain was. Then we'd follow cars that had "million woman march" signs in their windows, and cars followed ours cuz we had signs in our windows.
My most favorite sign that I placed in the window was
"Million Woman March or bust!"
the camaraderie was electrifying bcuz all of us black sisters knew this trip had purpose.
It was almost a no-go because when we were almost at Philadelphia, we stopped to eat in a suburb, a rural suburb-have no idea of the name, but when we walked inside of Denny's-all conversation ceased and as Tupac would've said...
"all eyes on me!"
I acknowledged the stares, but my stomach reigned supreme, and decided they could stare while i'm eating cuz i'm not leaving out w/out my Chicken Finger Salad.
That night we arrived in Philly and we weren't impressed. As a matter of fact-it was downright, rough!
We all decided we needed a shower and stopped at the first place, a motel, we came to.
Lawd, why did we do that??
It was a motel for crackheads and hookers! We rationalized that we weren't spending the night there, simply taking a shower...so we pressed our way in.
The man at the window was a schmuck, and there was a roach on the wall that froze when he saw us. I guess he thought he was invisible. we still pressed towards the room. it had a funky smell, and went to the bathroom, and it was filthy. that's it....shower can wait til we get to Marriott!
We were there all of 8 min and declared a refund was in order.
The man at the window decided contrary.
Not being one to accept "no" as an answer-I advised him to reverse his decision. We're from Detroit and I don't think he wants any of this!
Not until I threatened to call the police and advise them of drug use did he refund the money!
**skipping** The food was great, the women, young and old were beautiful esp in spirit!!
We had an issue with a waitress who attempted to inflate EVERY BLACK patrons' bill by approx $35-$40!
Can you say revolution?!
We almost turned that place out before the MWM festivities went down. :)
There were lots of hugs, tears, words of exhortation, hand holding, smiles, nods, and respectful salutations by all.
I'll always remember the MWM,and my being a part of history, but i have no desire to go back to Philadelphia!
You better recognize--revolution will always effect change, and change takes courage!
Ivent ;)

What Is It Going To Take In Order to Wake Up, Black Man?!

I hold great respect and admiration for a blogger named Lynn of http://www.hicktownpress.com/. Her no nonsense approach to life, oftentimes causes me to think, check myself and at times laugh in the face of trial and tribulation. On this day, Lynn has posted her views on an issue that is near and dear to my heart. They are words of frustration, that ends with a question mark, and it seems as if MEN DO NOT HAVE THE ANSWER. I didn't say a man do not have the answer, but is it fair for one man or a couple of good men, to put the world on his/their shoulders? Men, you claim your "man" title when you want to do wrong ("I'm a MAN", "this is what MEN" do blah blahblah)...HOW ABOUT CLAIMING YOUR "MAN" TITLE WHILE YOU "MAN-UP??" HOW ABOUT CLAIMING YOUR "MAN " TITLE while you're striving to make change in the midst of adversity, and not giving up WHEN ATTENTION IS NO LONGER ON YOU????

Family, please read Lynn's words. And may they fit in your life, where they may-Ivent:

Thousands of Philadelphia Men Turn Out in an Effort To Curtail Continued Black on Black Genocide source

October 23, 2007
By Lynn Green

Thousands of black men turned out Sunday to support a volunteer effort aimed at reducing violence in this crime-plagued city, lining up for several blocks to register.
Volunteers who join street patrols as part of the “Call to Action: 10,000 Men, It’s a New Day” campaign will not carry weapons or make arrests but will instead be trained in conflict resolution, organizers said.
“Nobody else is going to magically come into this community and get it done,” said real estate developer Abdur-Rahim Islam, a lead organizer.
Mayor John F. Street, music producer Kenny Gamble and other black community activists joined Police Chief Sylvester Johnson at Temple University for the kickoff rally.
Acknowledging that police alone can’t quell a run of violence, Johnson called for 10,000 volunteers last month to help make the streets safer. Philadelphia endures a reputation as one of America’s deadliest cities, with about a slaying a day and many more non-fatal shootings.
source
You know what? Something is strange when black men have to be begged to stop killing each other in the streets like dogs. We can’t put this one on the mythical “white man”. The “white man” is not controlling our brains with a remote control (sorry, conspiracy theorists). No, we are doing this to ourselves.
Check the statistics on Philly:
The City of Brotherly Love has also been called one of America’s deadliest cities. There have been more than 320 murders this year alone and more than 80 percent of the murders involve handguns. And most involve young black men. source
Apparently if you give a modern day slave (confused, self hating black man) a gun, he will not stop until he finds another black man to murder. It’s the wild west in too many cities.
I have a question for the black male bloggers who lurk this site. WHERE ARE YOU in this? Why haven’t you said one word about the responsibility that black men have in discontinuing this self styled genocide? This is insanity at its height and every black blogger out there needs to put this situation on blast.
Hey Jay-Z, where are you, dude? You cerainly had no problem doing a public service announcement to beg blacks to never say a negative word about Jews, but where is the public service towards the confused black slaves in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Los Angeles and Chicago who are adding to the literal destruction of our youth? You sorry hypocrite!
Hey Nas, you say you want to make a social statement by coming out with a CD called “Nigger”. Well I have a statement for you, bitch. Yes, I just called you a female dog. If you can call your own people a nigger I can call you a female dog. If you truly want to make a statement, how about going to Philadelphia and talking to the youth there about discontinuing their genocide on one another, instead of encouraging them to continue calling each other niggers while they blow each others’ brains out.
One more thing. What’s up with this crazy statement:
As organizers point out, a community can not rely on the police alone to stop violence and illegal activity. But don’t stop with 10,000 black men!
Get 10,000 black women involved and 10,000 whites and Hispanics and so on.
source
Back up. Black women are TIRED. What do you mean, get 10,000 black women involved? Black women aren’t the ones roaming the streets like rabid wolves killing folks. No, this one is on black men solely. YOU man-up, act like you have some balls, and deal with this. Leave black women out of this one. Mammy days of solving all black men’s problems are over. We need some real men to step up to the plate and solve this problem. Allow black women to be feminine for a minute. Stop trying to turn us into men. It’s time for you to move to the front. We are not your savior and we are not your mamma.
I’ve had it up to my ears with a certain segment of the black community. Always looking to black women to fix problems. Naw…the days of shucking, jiving, scratching where you don’t itch and buck dancing are over. Black women are TIRED of carrying you as you jigaboo, kill your own people and chase white women. YOU SOLVE THIS ONE, BLACK MEN!
Do I sound like I’m angry? Well, I am LIVID
