Ok, after 2 back-to-back phone calls warning me about my car getting possibly stuck,

I decided to bite the cold bullet and take my butt outside and attempt to dig (at least partially) my behind out.

Reports have come in about people being killed in car

accidents & dying from heart attacks as a result of shoveling this heavy snow.

Therefore, I did what any self respecting parent would do--I TOOK MY KID WITH ME...that way we can die together!! LOL

Seriously though, my son is 16- and while some parents think that means their child is an indentured slave, I believe in riding and dying together.
We broomed(don't have a shovel living in an apt-I knew I should've kept 1!) and footed (used our feet to sweep away snow) together.
I have a Ford and it's front wheel drive, wouldn't you know it...the ONE TIME I didn't back in to my parking spot-I get a small wall of snow behind my rear tires!
Well, we cleared the snow and I jumped in my car, and SLOWLY backed out, making sure i didnt get stuck atop any snow drifts.

I drove forward and reverse several times, until I was satisfied with the path my tires created.
I then pulled out and backed into my parking spot-for ez exit in the morning.
Tonight, the temp will get down to 19degrees, which means rock salt will be necessary to roll over the sheet of ice that's coming tonight which means disaster during tomorrow's rush hour traffic.

It was afterwards, that I was reminded by mama of course, that I had AAA roadside assistance!


Well, it didn't kill me so I guess in some way, it'll make my son Tony and I stronger.

Hi Family!
I'm back and I'm freezing!
It hovered between 56-62 degrees in L.A, and while everyone out there kicked their heaters up
to HELL...I was sweating!!
People were wrapped up in coats and hats,and I'm looking at them like like:
"you must be kidding?!"
56 degrees in Mich-will bring out the folks who wears shorts!
It was wonderful seeing my dad & stepmom and my bestest cousins:
Tisa, Tracy & Duck!!

I would like to give a special shout out to that GORGEOUS cook named Saadiq at the Gumbo Shack on Prairie! Lawd it's hard eating crabs and trying to look sexy at the same time!! :) But I did managed to pull it off ;)

The pic above at left, is of me and my 1st love Colin. He's a police officer for the state of California. That man has never met a camera he didn't like!! lol

All in all it was a wonderful trip, and I want to thank you, my blog fam who held it down and represented for me, eventhough I couldn't post as often!

Rapper Pimp C, dead in L.A. Hotel (I'm not familiar with him...my kid is)

Houston Rapper Pimp C Found Dead In Hotel

LOS ANGELES -- Pimp C, one-half of the veteran Houston rap group UGK, was found dead in an upscale hotel on Tuesday. He was 33.

"It is with great regret that I must confirm that Chad Butler aka Pimp C, one half of the legendary UGK, was in fact discovered dead this morning," his publicist, Nancy Byron, said in a statement. "Manager Rick Martin is asking that everyone please respect his family and those close to him at this time and refrain from rumors and innuendo."

Pimp C, born Chad Butler, was found dead in the Mondrian hotel, a longtime music-industry hangout.

Butler and his partner, Bernard "Bun B" Freeman, were pioneers of Southern rap, and hit the mainstream with their cameo on Jay-Z's smash "Big Pimpin'." Though they never enjoyed the pop-chart success of some other rappers, their 1996 CD "Ridin' Dirty" is considered a rap classic, and their laid-back sound, complete with gangsta tales of creeping through humid streets gripping wood-grain steering wheels, was influential in shaping the Southern rap movement.

The duo's career was derailed when Butler was jailed for three years in 2002 on gun charges. He released an album while in prison, and this year the group made a comeback with the critically acclaimed album "Underground Kingz," which included the hit "Int'l Player's Anthem (I Choose You)," featuring OutKast.

Barry Weiss, CEO of their record label, Jive, said in a statement: "We mourn the unexpected loss of Chad. He was truly a thoughtful and kind-hearted person. He will be remembered for his talent and profound influence as a pioneer in bringing southern rap to the forefront."

Butler, who grew up in Port Arthur, Texas, came from a musical lineage. His father was a professional trumpet player, and the rapper studied classical music in high school. He even received a Division I rating on a tenor solo at a University Interscholastic League choir competition.

"That's how I came up listening to everything," he told The Associated Press in a 2005 interview. "Music don't have no color or no face. It's a universal language. I think being exposed to all that kind of stuff influences the way I make records."

But it was rap music that would become his passion. Together with Bernard "Bun B" Freeman, Butler's friend since junior high, they started UGK, short for Underground Kingz.

Apparently Fox news got it all wrong when they reported that the powers that be at Def Jam said the label was not releasing Nas' new project named after the N-word.

Def Jam head, LA Reid, told MTV that he has no problem with the project whatsoever. As far as he's concerned, Nas can do no wrong.

"We support everything our artists do, everything! (L.A. sounds real stupid, that's why these artists are in the state they're in now)" he added. "We stand firmly behind and beside our artists with pride and with pleasure. Anything Nas wants to do, I completely stand beside him. Nas is prolific, he's prophetic, he's a genius, an amazing artist of respect. So, while I'm not sure exactly all that [the title] entails (uhhh, don't you think you ought to find out, Mr. "head of Def Jam?) I know it's smart, so I stand behind him. That's real."

OK, so you may be wondering just why is Nas doing this. The MC says his intent is to take the sting out of the N-word (PLEASE TELL ME...HOW IS THIS GOING TO TAKE THE STING OUT????? THIS IS AN EXCUSE TO SAY THE N***A OR N***ER WORD! WE'RE NOT STUPID! Well MOST of us aren't)

"We're taking power from the word," he told MTV. "No disrespect to none of them who were part of the civil rights movement, but some ... in the streets don't know who (civil rights activist) Medgar Evers was ... they know who Nas is (you fool! so why don't you rap about our predecessors and educate those who are in the streets?!)," the rapper said, referring to the civil rights leader slain in the 1960s.

He also had a message to the "older people" who don't know who Nas is and what a street disciple is.

"Stay outta this (expletive) conversation. (OH NO HE DIDN'T-REMEMBER THIS IS DIRECTED TO "OLDER PEOPLE" WHO DON'T KNOW WHO NAS IS?!) We'll talk to you when we're ready. Right now, we're on a whole new movement (MOVEMENT?! I didn't hear that he was in Jena 6, nor at the Judiciary Committee hearing w/John Conyers, Keith Ellison, Maxine Waters, Al Sharpton etc, is he kidding me?!). We're taking power from that word (hmmm, I'm curious, HOW WOULD U KNOW IF POWER WAS TAKEN FROM THAT WORD?! SMH)."

Finally, not only is the album apparently still in the pipeline for a Dec 11 release, but the title has now been changed from "Nigga" to "Nigger (whew! that was close, they're idiots!)."
