**UPDATE** Speaking Of Living On The Edge...Miracle

Man who drove off parking deck charged with DUI
SmileyCentral.com

Emergency workers rescued a man who was trapped in his car after it went over the railing in a parking deck and dangled seven floors above the ground.

Steel cables on the side of the parking caught the car late Wednesday. But all four wheels appeared free of the parking deck in Atlanta's Buckhead neighborhood.

Brant Sanderlin/AJC
Onlookers on the ground applauded the rescue at the parking deck, which is attached to the Realm condominiums in the 3300 block of Peachtree Road in Buckhead.

To reach the car without dislodging it, emergency workers went to the parking deck's top floor — one floor above the car — and rappelled down the side of the building. Then, a firefighter broke out the car's passenger side window, secured a harness around the driver and pulled him to safety, Atlanta Fire Capt. Bill May said.

Police Lt. Bob England said the car's air bag deployed, but the man hit his head on the windshield, knocking him unconscious and keeping him still while rescuers on the scene studied the precarious situation.

"It looks like he sped up the ramp and went right through the wires," England said. "The wires did what the wires are supposed to do."

The man, whose name was not immediately released, was brought to a hospital.

There's a saying that God protects "fools and babies."

In this instance, there seems to be some truth.

Celebrity Justice: NOT Lovin' It!

84 minutes in Jail?!
What kind of bull is this?
Must Be Nice!

You know - it must be nice to be being famous.
ANOTHER celebrity escapes justice that is reserved for only "regular people." Recovering addict Lindsay Lohan, who's more famous for her grainy video depicting her snorting 'caine, than her movies, went to jail!SmileyCentral.com

And then she was released 84 minutes later.

SmileyCentral.com
Now, now, before you start-Lindsay was searched, fingerprinted, placed in a holding cell while keeping her street clothes on-well why should she change clothes, if she's getting released 1.5 hrs later?!

Must be nice.
I wonder how would my cousin Sissy feel about that?
she has a dui charge just like Lo-lo but she's been locked up for over a week.

And since she's been there over a week, I'm pretty darn sure she's not wearing her street clothes.
Well, not everyone can be Lo-lo!
hmmmm...yeah must be nice.

Gotta love that celebrity justice

I Will Cut You Over My Pickles! (no seriously, I would :P )

IN A PICKLE: Man Jailed, Used Pickle as Weapon
source

NILES, Mich. (AP) - Calling it silly yet serious, a judge sentenced a 35-year-old man to time served in jail and probation in a case that police say involved an assault with - and over - pickles.

Bobby Lee Bolen, who lives in the southwestern Michigan community of Buchanan, was sentenced Monday to 54 days in jail with credit for 54 days served and one year of probation as well as restitution for third-offense home invasion.

According to police reports, Bolen broke into Jody Lee's home in Buchanan Aug. 20, got into an argument and threw two large pickles at friends Lee and J.W. Romanski III.

Two counts involving Bolen's assaults were dismissed as was a charge of cutting or interfering with phone lines.

"If this is not the silliest case I've ever seen in this courtroom, it certainly is in the top 10," Berrien Trial Court Judge Scott Schofield said Monday. "The fact that it's silly doesn't mean that it's not serious."

Assistant Prosecutor Kelly Travis called the situation "completely needless."

"Mr. Bolen is in need of anger management, so maybe he can get to the bottom of why he would commit a felony over pickles," Travis told the South Bend (Ind.) Tribune.

Defense attorney Robert Lutz said alcohol appeared to be at the root of Bolen's problem.

Why did I post this?

Besides saying, "I Can,"
I'm also going to "share."
Anyone who knows me will attest to this:
I.....LOVE.....PICKLES.
So the thought of someone throwing pickles-instead of giving them to me (perhaps) really gets my goat!
If I get a hamburger/sandwich I ALWAYS ask for heavy pickles. Before I leave I check the burger/sandwich.
People let me tell you something:
"extra" and "heavy" are not synonomous.
If I get an EXTRA pickle when I asked for heavy pickles, the following takes place: First i give a look. then I take a deep breath. Then I check the receipt to make sure I made my desire known correctly (of course I did), then I send it back. *I'll say extra prayers at this time cuz I know some foodworkers are scandalous, when it comes to sending food back*

Done correctly, there'll be at least a 2 layer stack and I will not be able to see the meat on the sandwich because it's covered with pickles. This insures I get pickles in every bite.
Ok, I've opened up enough.
til next time,
You Better Recognize the world around you!

Mom, Dad Accused Hours Apart Of DWI

YPSILANTI, Mich. -- A married couple were arrested within hours, each on suspicion of drunken driving.

First the husband, then his wife were arrested.

Police in a Michigan town said they stopped the man and gave him a preliminary breath test after watching him allegedly run a red light.

Police said the test registered above the legal .08 drunken driving limit.

He had his 12-year-old son in the car with him, and police told the boy to call his mother to pick him up.

After she arrived, with her 9-year-old daughter in the car, police said, the woman was tested and also found to be legally drunk.

Both children were turned over to a relative until the parents were determined to be sober.

Hmmm, sounds like a match made in hell.
Despite the shaky foundation these parents have given their children,
I'm hoping the siblings will be able to overcome their circumstances.
Being the "child" of an alcoholic, is not a walk in the park-I have first hand experience. I put quotations around the word "child" because when your parent is an addict, regardless of their drug of choice, you're no longer a child once you're aware of their dependency.
You become the parent, and they become the child.
I pray these children make it.

Chyna Bunny Wobbles All the Way Home

If you were wondering how many people it takes to carry Chyna around town, the correct answer is two.

The wrestling diva was dressed up as a bunny for Halloween, and apparently needed a little help from her friends to get around. It's unclear from the pic where she hid her carrot.

Lawd, this child...she's a one woman wreckingball!
I hope she's ok, cuz these two look real scuzzy, and she looks...well, i've seen her look better.
I pray she gets the help she needs, quick, fast, and in a hurry.

Kid, One Day She'll Say Thank You!

Mother Arrested After Boy Calls 911 About Her Driving

source

VANCOUVER, Wash. -- A woman was arrested Sunday for investigation of drunken driving and other charges following repeated calls to 911 from her 8-year-old son, who was in the car, Clark County sheriff's deputies said.

Paulette Lynn Spears, 33, who lives in the Minnehaha area east of Vancouver, was arrested Saturday evening after she drove to a fire station and said she had a medical problem. Guided by her son's description of what he could see from the car, as well as by global positioning technology to track the phone calls, deputies arrived less than a minute later.

Emergency dispatchers received a report of a four-door Nissan sedan being driven erratically four minutes before the first call from her son, sheriff's Sgt. Randon M. Walker said.

"He said 'I don't know where we are, and Mom's not acting normal,"' Walker said.

As the operator began asking the boy for landmarks and the direction the car was traveling, Walker said, Spears took the cellular telephone from the boy, told the dispatcher not to worry and hung up.

The boy called back, and again his mother cut short the call, Walker said.

"The mother kept interrupting the 8-year-old," he said. "It happened at least twice."

At one point, Walker said, Spears apparently bit the boy's hand to get the telephone away from him.

The boy and a younger child, 5, who was also in the car, were placed with an aunt. As of Monday, Spears remained in jail for investigation of drunken driving, two counts of reckless endangerment and assault of a child. Records show she has at least one conviction for drunken driving.

That kid is a hero in my book.
He saved her life, his sister's life & his.
That was courage, and the fact that he could tell she was driving erratic , tells me she was 3 sheets to the wind.
Kids don't usually pay attention the way parents drive.
She's in serious-this being her second time...tsk, tsk.
She'll thank him one day..he just wanted to live. That's all.
