Oh, no -- not again.

It appears to be that time once more for the race and IQ debate to rear its foolish head by dint of something said or published by a person of purportedly high intelligence.

We were last here in 1994, with the release of "The Bell Curve," in which Charles Murray, a historian, and Richard Hernstein, a behavioral psychologist, argued that black people, on the whole, are of lower intelligence than whites as a whole.

A firestorm erupted, with loads of dissenters and critics on one side and loads of defenders and believers on the other. Murray swam through the turbulence, laughing all the way to the bank as the book climbed the bestseller lists. His co-conspirator in the publishing crime had died shortly before the book came out.

Now comes the chancellor of the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a scientific research facility in New York, telling a British audience that he sees a dire future for Africans because “all our social policies are based on the fact that their intelligence is the same as ours -- whereas all the testing says not really.”

Why Nas? Why?! the rapper has decided that the N-word - the five-letter slang version - will be the title of his new album due in December from Def Jam.
The rapper announced the news while headlining the last stop of the Sneaker Pimps Tour on Friday at New York's Roseland Ballroom.
According to MTV.com, he told the crowd that his new album will be titled "Nigga," a name he had planned to call his previous album until deciding at the last minute to use "Hip Hop Is Dead" instead.

A month before the new album arrives, Nas's greatest hits collection is scheduled to drop on Nov. 6. A video for one of the two new songs on the project, "Surviving the Times," will be shot soon, according to MTV.

OUTRAGE LEADS TO CANCELATION OF 'LIGHT-SKINNED' NIGHT: After backlash, host says 'I made a mistake.'

A Detroit-based DJ and party promoter met with an avalanche of furor when he tried to sponsor a party that would allow only "light-skinned" black women into the club for free.
Word of the party's shade-based policy quickly spread across the Internet and soon, irate folks were bombarding the party's promoter, Ulysses "DJ Lish" Barnes, with angry calls and emails.
"I made a mistake," Barnes told the Detroit News. "I didn't think there would be a backlash."
Needless to say, Barnes – an African American who describes himself as a "dark-skinned" – canceled the event after witnessing the size of the uproar.
"I didn't mean to offend anyone," he said. "I had planned a party for other shades (of black women). We were going to take a shade of color each week. Next week was going to be a party for 'Sexy Chocolate' and the week after that 'Sexy Caramel.'"
Black blogsites quickly joined the chorus of boos, with some urging a boycott of the party and filing a lawsuit against the party's promoter.
A Los Angeles-based activist who goes by the name of Pearl Jr. was able to reach Barnes on the phone and explain to him the historical pain behind his actions.
"I had a good conversion with him and he understood," said Pearl Jr., founder of the Black Women's Movement in Los Angeles and the author of the book "Black Women Need Love, Too."
"Ignorance can't always be an excuse," she told the Detroit News. "Colorism is real in the black community. It's especially very degrading to dark-skinned black women."
The party's discriminating tone harkens to the day of the "brown paper bag test," which compared the complexions of blacks to a brown grocery bag before they could be admitted to social clubs and affairs, said Pearl Jr.

As you've read, stupidity has no specific locale.

I'm not worried about nooses from non-blacks, i'm worried about nooses that my community has. Hatred for one another, abuse, addictions, racism (by the community TOWARDS the community)

Being from Detroit, I'm not sure what made him think that would be alright with everyone.

Well it looks like Rudy Giuliani's , presidential candidate, weakness is still women. So much in fact, that during a speaking engagement with the NRA (National Rifle Association for those unaware) his wife called him during his speech (who does she think she is-doesn't she know he's a public speaker?!), and he not only answered the phone but he engaged in conversation! (excuse me?!). Everyone knows the NRA do not play, and he better thank his heavenly Father-that he didn't catch 6 bullets to his cell phone hand! I'll thank Him on his behalf---
