Why I Would NEVER become a teacher...

I came across this video at Free2bee's blog, and I tell you...this video has confirmed in spirit and elsewhere why there's not enuf money in the world to teach today's U.S.A. high schoolers.

Let the record show...i'm not speaking of those students who are serious about learning and know why they're there. There are students who choose to rise above their circumstances.

I'm speaking of those who have (for whatever reason) anger and choose to take it out on those who are there to teach. The only way I'D teach kids would be if they're in preschool or kindergarten (and I'd think twice about that)...or I can come strapped with a glock or two, and Jesus came back in the flesh and told me it's either do this or go straight to hell!

OMAHA, Neb. -- A Lexington junior high school teacher was back in the United States Saturday afternoon after FBI agents from San Diego took her to the Imperial County Jail in El Centro, Calif.

Kelsey Peterson was found with her 13-year-old student in Mexico on Friday night. The minor was released to his relatives in Mexico, ABC reported.
Peterson is accused of having a sexual relationship with the boy. Peterson was a sixth-grade math teacher and basketball coach at Lexington Middle School. The boy is an eighth-grade student at the school.

U.S. Attorney Joe Stecher said Peterson's vehicle entered Mexico this week.
"We do know the vehicle she was traveling in did cross the border. We know that because the license plate was captured by a camera. It's reasonable to assume they were in the vehicle," Stecher said.

The FBI said agents were in Mexico on Friday working with Mexican police to track down Peterson and the boy.
The FBI said around 7:30 p.m. central time, Peterson and the boy were found in Mexicali, Mexico. They were taken into custody by officials from the Baja California State Preventive Police Agency.
FBI agents from the San Diego Field Office and the FBI Imperial County Resident Agency Office said they were on their way to Mexicali to meet with Mexican authorities.

"Anytime you have an adult taking advantage of a child, this is a child 13 years old, it becomes priority," Stecher said. "It's a manipulative crime. You talk about a 13-year-old. How much influence has been put on them for this and you don't know what direction it will turn."
It's believed that a police investigation caused Peterson and the boy to flee to Mexico, ABC News reported. Authorities wanted to know if the teacher was having an intimate relationship with they boy after the eighth-grader's family reported deep suspicions.

The boy's cousin, Jessica Vera, told ABC that the teen was always at Peterson's house and they spent a lot of time together.
Peterson had been put on administrative leave a day before she apparently left town with the
boy.

Lexington Principal Todd Chessmore said he had no reason to have acted earlier.
"There was no prior indication that we should be concerned," Chessmore told ABC.

Peterson faces charges, according to Dawson County Attorney Elizabeth Waterman.
"I have charged her with one count of kidnapping, with felony child abuse and with contributing to the delinquency of a minor," Waterman said.

Peterson also faces federal charges, including transporting a minor across state lines or a foreign border for sexual activity. If found guilty, the conviction could carry a 10-year prison sentence.
Stecher told KETV NewsWatch 7 that Peterson and her alleged victim will be interviewed on their return, and the appropriate charges will be filed expeditiously.

Last week, love letters between the boy and Peterson were allegedly discovered on the teacher's school computer. In one letter, court records show, the boy said he loved Peterson and their relationship wasn't "just about sex."

The records show that Peterson also admitted to her father she was having a sexual relationship with a student, but she told him the boy was 16.
The two disappeared from Lexington on Saturday.

secondly-I want to know, why is it that teachers are finding STUDENTS (CHILDREN) attractive??

I don't like hearing teens speak for more than 5 minutes, so i couldn't fathom the thought of assuming a relationship with one!! these kids are young and impressionable.

Did kelsey believe she could get away with this???

My male co-worker believes it's different for young men then it is for young women. He says that losing your virginity as a teenager (kid) to an older woman is not equal to molestation, pedophilia etc-in the eyes of the kid. Could he be correct.

And even if it were true, is it RIGHT for an adult to manipulate a CHILD????

What about possible trauma, damage in the long run, the grand scheme of things?

BANGKOK, Thailand — A Canadian schoolteacher suspected of having sex with dozens of young boys will be held in a Thai jail for at least 12 days pending a trial on molestation charges, a court ordered Saturday.
Christopher Paul Neil, one of the world's most wanted alleged pedophiles, denied he did anything wrong following his arrest Friday at a house in Thailand's rural northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima, which he rented with a Thai transvestite friend whose phone calls police had traced.

A judge in the Bangkok Criminal Court signed a police order to extend his detention to 12 days, and could move later to keep him behind bars up to 84 days. After the closed-door hearing, Neil was incarcerated at the Bangkok Remand Prison.
The 32-year-old Neil arrived in court wearing a red-striped T-shirt, baseball cap and sunglasses. Looking haggard, he said "no comment" when reporters asked if he had anything to say to his family.
"He was stressed out and could not sleep very well," said police Maj. Gen. Wimol Powintara, chief of the crimes against children, juveniles and women division. "I asked my subordinates to take care of him and give him food and drinks, so he feels better."

Neil was charged Friday with taking a child under 15 without parental consent with intent to molest, punishable by up to 20 years in prison; illegal detention, punishable by up to three years; and sexual abuse of a child under 15, punishable by up to 10 years.
Wimol said the investigation into the allegations could take a month and a trial could start soon after.
Though Neil has not spoken publicly, Lt. Col. Manat Thongsimuang said he "denied all the charges" when questioned by police Friday.
In Canada, Neil's family issued an e-mailed statement in which they said "mistakes have been made but he is still a member of our family."
"We will do everything we can to support him during this troubling time in his life," said the Neil family statement. "We are all in agreement that he should be extradited to Canada to face these allegations."
Speaking separately to reporters outside his home in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Neil's younger brother, Matthew, said the family is "relieved and we want to see this move forward to the next phase of the event."
"I would like to see him come back to Canada, but I understand that it's an international incident and I understand the need for multinational involvement," he said.
Neil's arrest ended a global manhunt that started three years ago when German police discovered hundreds of photos online showing a man — his face obscured in a swirl — having sex with Asian boys.
German police reconstructed a recognizable image believed to be Neil, and Interpol last week issued an unprecedented worldwide appeal to identify and apprehend the suspect.
Immigration counter cameras took Neil's picture as he arrived at Bangkok's international airport, confirming his whereabouts. His photo was subsequently splashed across Thai newspapers, prompting people to call police with tips.
On Thursday night, police traced a call made on a mobile phone by a 25-year-old Thai transvestite who they have said arranged some of Neil's alleged sexual liaisons with boys.
They found the Thai man in the northeastern province of Chaiyaphum. He told police he and Neil had rented a house together in neighboring Nakhon Ratchasima province, and on Friday morning the man led the five-man police team there.
When they went to the house, Neil surrendered peacefully and acknowledged he was the man they were looking for. The police used a warrant issued Thursday to place him under arrest.
The charges are based on Neil's alleged abuse of a 9-year-old boy in Bangkok in 2003, but Thai police say at least three other boys are believed to have had sex with him, and more charges may be filed.
Late Friday, Interpol called on victims of the captured suspect to come forward.
"The investigation must now continue. All victims of this man must make themselves known," the head of Interpol's police services, Jean-Michel Louboutin, said at a news conference in Lyon, France, the organization's headquarters.
Whether Neil would have to serve a sentence in Thailand if convicted is unknown. Foreigners convicted of crimes in Thailand are sometimes declared undesirable aliens after their trials and are expelled from the country.
Canadian authorities have said they will seek his extradition, but have not yet done so, according to Thai officials. Canada has sex tourism laws allowing prosecution for crimes committed overseas.
Neil lived in Thailand from 2002 to early 2004, police said. Three Thai youths contacted police Wednesday after seeing Neil's photograph on television, claiming he had paid each of them 500 baht to 1,000 baht (US$16 to US$32) to perform oral sex on him in 2003. They were aged 9, 13 and 14 at the time of their alleged abuse.
Neil had taught at various schools in Thailand, South Korea and Vietnam since 2000. Before then, Neil worked as a chaplain in Canada, counseling teenagers. He abruptly left his most recent teaching job in South Korea last week on a one-way ticket to Thailand as investigators came closer to identifying him.

BANGKOK, Thailand (CNN) -- Thai investigators say their case against a suspected pedophile is based on information from three boys in Thailand who say they were abused by the man when he made an earlier trip to the country.

Canadian teacher Christopher Paul Neil was the subject of a worldwide lookout posted earlier this month by Interpol, the international police agency, after he was identified as the man in 200 photographs posted on the Internet showing 12 different young males being sexually abused.

A Canadian who had been working in South Korea as an English teacher, he was arrested early Friday in Nakhon Ratchafima, a town about 130 miles northeast of Bangkok.

Maj. Gen. Wimol Pao-in, a Thai police official, said Neil was allegedly attempting to contact underage boys there.

Neil, 32, kept his head covered with a blue shirt as he was paraded in front of a throng of photographers as he arrived in Bangkok Friday.

He was made to sit -- head uncovered -- at a news conference a short time later. He sat silently and without expression as police officials spoke about the case.

Neil, with his head closely shaved but his beard apparently not shaved for several days, wore a T-shirt, jogging pants and sunglasses.

A Thai court Saturday granted investigators their request to keep Neil in jail for 12 days, something they can ask to have extended up to seven more times, while they prepare their case against him, Pao-in said.


Thai officials would consider sending Neil to another country to face charges if there is a request for extradition, he said.

Thai police said the three boys who are expected to be key witnesses against Neil in any trial in their country were between the ages of seven and 14 at the time of their abuse.

The photos that initially drew Interpol's attention were believed to be taken in Vietnam and Cambodia in 2002 or 2003 and had been digitally altered to disguise the man's face. But German investigators were able to reverse the process and restore the images, and his picture was then distributed worldwide.

The suspect was identified within three days after the photographs were released, based on tips from five sources on three continents, according to Interpol.
