TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (AP) -- John McCain, Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee are battling for the hearts -- and votes -- of Michigan today.
GOP Candidates...taking MI by storm
The Republican presidential contenders are trying to position themselves for Michigan's potentially make-or-break primary.
Economic issues were a focal point heading into Tuesday's vote because Michigan's unemployment rate is the highest in the country by a full percentage point. It also is about 50 percent higher than the national average.
Romney says during a stop in Traverse City it's "simply wrong for Washington to be aware of what's going on in Michigan without doing something about it."
McCain was speaking later at a town hall meeting in Warren, before stops in Livonia and Clawson. Huckabee started his day with a prayer breakfast in Grand Rapids, before attending a rally in the city.
