Once again...a black man has been freed courtesy of DNA. I thank God that conclusive tests such as DNA testing exists, but I hate that innocent people are being locked up on bigots' say so.

James Woodard has been locked up 27 yrs...what can you say to him that'll make up for his incarceration?
What is goin to happen to those were a party to this miscarriage of injustice?
SMH
Woodard also tells why he's no longer mad. It has to be Jesus-that's all i can say.
Best wishes James :)
CNN is featuring a 2nd story on DNA exoneration.

The Photo That's Launching Black Conspiracy Theories All Over America...smh

I love the content of Bossip.com

To me it is a great black entertainment blog just as Concrete Loop, and Young, Black and Fabulous...as a matter of fact, I utilize their content often.
Today, I remembered why I stopped posting at Bossip and other black entertainment blogs...sigh...drama.
Drama that only my people can stir up. lol

When I first viewed this image at
Urban Scanz
my thought was hmmm, ok that's cool. I like the "opposite" element that's going on here:
black/white
male/female
masculine/feminine
aggression of athletics/softness of modeling
(not including drug use, bulimia, anorexia, backstabbing etc lol)
you get the picture.
As a matter of fact...to me the cover was boring-
that's why I didn't include it at Bria's Own Words along with the other covers featuring black celebrities
[p1.vogue.jpg]

Don't get me wrong...it looks like Lebron and Gisele had fun doing this photo shoot, but nothing stopped and made me go..."wow that's a nice cover, I want to feature it at Brias Own Words..." nor did it make me want to call Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton!

Well chile let me tell you...all hell has broken loose at Bossip...there are so many theories flying around in the comment section, you'd have enough material to write a dissertation for a doctorate's degree.
It became so ridiculous, I got a headache and decided to post this pic and see if any of you
see Lebron as
  • King Kong
  • A Slave
  • hoodwinked/bamboozled
it goes on and on.
And for those (myself) who don't see the racist intent of the photo, they (me) too have been hoodwinked.

sigh

So I'm asking you all...when you view the image above (please note the title of the issue), remember the issue is about the bodies of athletes and super models. Vogue has chosen the athlete and super model who is at the top of the game, What comes to mind?
Is this a subtle racist cover?
Please clue me in.

Sheila...I Need To Pay More Attn to Tennis!!

Thank You, Lord!
My Twin and i were on the subject of race, and how, we as a people like to identify ourselves in other blacks, like in black celebrities. We like to see features that our common to us -in others.
Don't ask...he and I have deep conversations like that.

But Twin let it slip-or maybe it wasn't a slip that James Black-I mean Blake (pic'd below) now has a bald head.
I ain't mad at him.
Not at all.

Mmmm Mmmm Thank you Google Images

Retiring?? As If He Had a Choice!!

Scientist Retires After Remarks on Race source

NEW YORK (Oct. 25) - James Watson, famous for DNA research but widely condemned for recent comments about intelligence levels among blacks, retired Thursday from his post at a prestigious research institution.

Watson, 79, and the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York announced his departure a week after the lab suspended him. He was chancellor of the institution, and his retirement took effect immediately.

(Prominent DNA scientist James Watson, here in 2005, has made a number of provocative statements over the years, above right)

Watson shared a Nobel Prize in 1962 for co-discovering the structure of the DNA molecule. He is one of America's most prominent scientists.

In his statement Thursday, Watson said that because of his age, his retirement was "more than overdue. The circumstances in which this transfer is occurring, however, are not those which I could ever have anticipated or desired."

Watson, who has a long history of making provocative statements, ran into trouble last week for remarks he made in the Sunday Times Magazine of London. A profile quoted him as saying that he's "inherently gloomy about the prospect of Africa" because "all our social policies are based on the fact that their intelligence is the same as ours - whereas all the testing says not really."

He said that while he hopes everyone is equal, "people who have to deal with black employees find this is not true." He also said people should not be discriminated against on the basis of color, because "there are many people of color who are very talented."

Watson later apologized. But by then, London's Science Museum had canceled a sold-out lecture Watson was to give there, and London's mayor had branded the comments "racist propaganda."

In the United States, the Federation of American Scientists said Watson was promoting "personal prejudices that are racist, vicious and unsupported by science." And the Cold Spring Harbor lab said its board and administration "vehemently disagree with these statements and are bewildered and saddened if he indeed made such comments."

The lab suspended Watson's administrative duties last Thursday.

Watson had served at the lab for nearly 40 years, having been named director in 1968. He was its president from 1994 to 2003.

That's a shame. Oh well, don't do the crime if you can't do the time.
Somebody'll hire him...believe that.

Britney, What's Really Going On?!

Judge yanks Britney's visitation rights
source

LOS ANGELES - Britney Spears can't even visit her children now. The troubled pop star may not see 2-year-old Sean Preston and 1-year-old Jayden James — who are in the custody of Spears' ex-husband, Kevin Federline — until she complies with a court order, Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon ruled.
The order, dated Wednesday, does not spell out what directives Spears defied. A hearing in the matter was scheduled for Oct. 26.
A message left with Spears' attorney, Anne Kiley, was not immediately returned.

In the past, Gordon has reprimanded Spears for not complying with other court orders, repeatedly saying that she lost primary custody to Federline due to her own choices.
Among other things, Gordon has ordered her to undergo random weekly drug testing, citing evidence that Spears engaged in "habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol."

She could not visit with her children without a parenting coach present. The coach participated in the emergency hearing Wednesday. Both parents were ordered to remain sober around their children.
****
I'm convinced. For some warped reason, Britney has set out to sabotage herself and lose those babies on purpose.
I'm not sure if she blames them for her career nosedive or what, but those babies didn't deliver themselves.
I didn't think much of K-fed, but whatever the motivation-he has stepped up.
Good for him.
