Something In The Milk Ain't Clean...

My sis in Christ, Shirley of Kingskid sent me an email regarding Catholic Priest Michael Pfleger. The priest who ministered at Trinity (Obama's former) Church.
I had not viewed the vid so I had no opinion.
Well. I've watched the video.
My goodness.
First of all, Pfleger's white and I must say...I HAVE NEVER, EVER, EVER seen, saw (whatever the correct tense is) a Catholic priest minister like that.
wow.
I have a feeling that's a point of contention also.

I'd would've liked to see his sermon in full context, but people like drama...outside and inside of the church-so of course only the inflammatory portion would be uploaded on YouTube.

I do agree with what Pfleger said, but the Catholic church did not.
Pfleger was suspended for 'mocking' Hillary Clinton.
He's suspended for two weeks.
Ok.
But I have questions:
This catholic priest gets SUSPENDED for talking about a grown person (Hillary C),
but when it comes to priests WHO MOLEST AND SEXUALLY ASSAULT CHILDREN, they get transferred.
They get transferred again, and again again.
Until a child grows up and say I'm going to put an end to this!
WTH??
Why are these pervs still employed by the Catholic Church??
Why are they on payroll until the victims grow up and identify the perv in the church as the source of their personal hell, and Pfleger is almost IMMEDIATELY suspended??

Also...WHEN HAVE U EVER SAW THE CATHOLIC CHURCH MOVE INTO ACTION THAT FAST?!

Excuse me?
Pfleger can't talk about Hillary, but Father so-and-so can play with lil Johnny's privates all the while telling parishioners to do 11,000 hail mary's for the sins they've committed?!
I'm not taking issue with the Catholic faith, I'm taking issue with the swift and not so swift hand of justice coming from the archdiocese.

You got it twisted for real.

Yeah, Pfleger could've said those words in another arena, but I've a feeling he'd still get suspended.

Family, what say you???

PRIEST IS 'OUT'
SHACKED-UP GAY REV. IS GETTING DEFROCKED

The Rev. Michael Moynihan (above) was stripped of his priestly duties after the Bridgeport Diocese learned he was...

living with Michael Fawcett (above) in Midtown.

*****

February 4, 2008 -- A popular Catholic chaplain at SUNY Maritime College in The Bronx has been fired and barred from acting as a priest after The Post told church officials that he has lived with another man in a pricey Manhattan one- bedroom apartment for years.

The Rev. Michael Moynihan's suspension as a cleric late last week comes a year after he resigned as the beloved pastor of a ritzy Connecticut parish amid a financial scandal there.

And it came after his Bridgeport [Conn.] Diocese bosses - who earlier caught Moynihan lying about the existence of secret bank accounts at his former parish - learned that the dapper, white-haired cleric misled them about living with a man in Midtown.

That roommate - a handsome television actor and singer named Michael Fawcett - for years was the children's choir director at Moynihan's ex-parish, St. Michael the Archangel in Greenwich, Conn.

Moynihan, 55, now is not allowed to wear clerical garb, perform Roman Catholic church sacraments other than saying Mass for himself, or otherwise publicly act as a priest.

He resigned as St. Michael's pastor in January 2007, much to the dismay of many parishioners, after a probe found he had spent more than $500,000 in church funds from two secret bank accounts he had set up without being able to properly document the expenditures.

Despite losing his Connecticut job, Moynihan for the past year remained a priest in good standing and continued working as the longtime chaplain at SUNY Maritime College, a staterun school in the Throgs Neck section of The Bronx.

But that ended last week, when The Post told a spokesman for the Bridgeport Diocese that the priest's landlord had confirmed that Moynihan lived with Fawcett, 53, in a rented co-op unit at 300 E. 40th St. "Moynihan has lived with Fawcett for about a decade in the one-bedroom apartment, which rents for an estimated $3,000 to $4,000 per month, according to commercial database records.

On Friday, the Bridgeport Diocese issued a statement saying that prior to the financial scandal at St. Michael the Archangel, allegations had been made that Moynihan had "an improper relationship with" Fawcett, which "were vigorously denied by Father Moynihan and could not be substantiated.

"Nonetheless, Father Moynihan was asked to end all affiliation with [Fawcett] to avoid even the appearance of impropriety, so as not to undermine the church's mission," the diocese said.

Moynihan did not return requests for comment. "I don't have any comment," said Fawcett, who has appeared on an episode of "Law and Order."

~~~~~~~~~~~
All I want to say is:
Mike & Mike-how did you think this would NEVER come out??
Mike M., you're ministering to God's people, encouraging them to confess their sins, and do Hail Marys'- when the confessing should've come from YOUR MOUTH.
I have a feeling this isn't the last we're going to hear of this story.
*smh*
Yes Monsignor, It IS a Sin!!
Vatican Bans Priest in Gay Sex Scandal
source: AOL NEWS, AP (emphasis by Ivent)
VATICAN CITY (AP) - The Vatican said Saturday it has suspended a monsignor from a senior post at the Holy See after an Italian TV program using a hidden camera recorded him making advances to a young man and asserting that gay sex was not sinful. The Vatican did not identify the monsignor by name. But Monsignor Tommaso Stenico confirmed in a telephone interview with The Associated Press that he had been suspended from his post at the Vatican 's Congregation for Clergy, an office which aims to ensure proper conduct by priests.
"Don't condemn me," Stenico said, adding that the program "was done fraudulently" because it used a hidden camera. In the program on private Italian network La7, a man identified as a priest is heard saying that he "didn't feel he was sinning" by having sex with gay men. Rome daily La Repubblica reported Saturday that Vatican officials recognized the monsignor's office in the background of the program, which aired Oct. 1. The Rev. Federico Lombardi, a Vatican spokesman, said the Italian monsignor was suspended while the case was under investigation. "Higher-ups are evaluating the situation with the necessary reserve and with the obligatory respect for the person involved, even if this person has erred," Lombardi said. Vatican officials "had to intervene decisively and with the severity required by conduct not compatible with priestly service and with the mission of the Holy See," he added. While the Vatican rarely comments on individual sex scandals, this case directly touched the Holy See, apparently prompting the confirmation of the report. Vatican teaching holds that homosexual activity is a sin. Stenico said to call back later in the day when he would have more to say, but later attempts to reach him were not successful. The Italian news agency ANSA quoted him as saying he had sent his superiors "a dutiful memo" about the case.
The good news is: At least children weren't involved.
The bad news is: The Catholic Church can't seem to quite bounce back from sex scandals.
I applaud the Church for acting swiftly and taking corrective action. They did not attempt to keep it hush-hush, and transfer the monsignor to another church with unwitting parishioners.
So the monsignor doesn't "feel"he was sinning.
It's funny, God is not worried about what "we feel" is sinful or not.
We're expected to read the Word, and believe it, and apply it to our lives.
*sigh* I know, it's easier said than done. But it can be done.
