Ross, Not The Boss in Jamaica!!

DIANA ROSS BOOED IN JAMAICA: Fans upset because she wouldn't allow cameras to film her for the large screens.

*Imagine being a life long Diana Ross fan and paying some 70 or 80 bucks to see her in concert, only to be so far away that you can't see any part of her, or even the stage itself.

This was a frustrating reality for many Jamaican fans at Saturday's Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival in Montego Bay. The event turned ugly when host Don Topping announced Ross' request that she not be filmed for large video screens that would allow everyone at the Acquaduct Rose Hall to see her performance.

Needless to say, her decisions caused many in the crowd of roughly 40,000 to boo and heckle The Boss throughout her hour-long performance, which went unseen by most audience members seated too far away.

Festival rep Carlette DeLeon released a statement admitting that "the much anticipated performance of Diana Ross on Saturday proved somewhat disappointing to many patrons who expected a very interactive set."

"Miss Ross' request to have a restricted display of her performance however, inconvenienced patrons who were left feeling distanced from the stage and her performance," she continued.

Jawn Murray of AOL Black Voices was on hand with a video camera and captured one round of booing after Topping announced there would be no videotaping of Ross' set.

According to local entertainment television correspondent Candice Buchanan, many fans had been looking forward to the performance for months, only to come away without actually seeing the Detroit native.

"[They were] saving up their moneys to make sure they wouldn't miss this once in a lifetime performance by their favorite star Diana Ross," said Buchanan. "Now for them to get there and be deprived of even a glimpse of Miss Ross was indeed a major blow. That coupled with the fact that her performance was low energy and filled with lip synching lead to the [reaction] she received. Apparently Jamaicans felt dissed by the diva and lost interest."

Dog's Son Tucker & Girlfriend...

For those of us who are curious about Doug "Dog" Chapman's son Tucker, who recorded Dog's racist rant and THEN SOLD IT to The National Enquirer here's his pic:

Not bad looking, Tucker.
I can't say I've ever seen you on the show.
They look happy.
Hope it was worth selling out your family, Tucker.

Sharpie & Doggy to Unite...Whenever Sharpie's Schedule Allows--I Know That's Right!

SHARPTON RESPONDS TO 'BOUNTY HUNTER':
Activist says he'll grant Dog's request to meet – but only when he finds time in his schedule.
source

*Al Sharpton released a letter to Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman via his National Action Network organization responding to the reality star's apology for repeatedly using the N-word in a phone conversation and request for a meeting with the activist to address the situation.
As previously reported, Chapman's phone conversation with his son Tucker, in which he used the racist term in reference to his son's African American girlfriend, was secretly recorded and leaked anonymously to the National Enquirer.
In the conversation, Chapman used the offensive word six times, ironically in a discussion about how using the N-word would destroy his television career if ever exposed. Chapman urges his son to break up with his girlfriend and also expresses concern about the girlfriend going public about his use of the N-word. (Hear excerpt of tape here.)
Once the tape leaked and flooded the Internet over the past two days, the star of A&E's "Dog the Bounty Hunter" issued a statement apologizing for his comments.

In his remarks, Chapman said he is meeting with his spiritual adviser, Rev. Tim Storey, who is black, and hopes to meet with other black leaders, "so they can see who I really am and teach me the right thing to do to make things right, again."
Sharpton responded in a letter Thursday that appeared on the Web site of his National Action Network. Here it is in its entirety:
November 1, 2007
Dear Mr. Chapman:
I received your call while on the road promoting a March I am leading on the United States Justice Department on November 16th in Washington, DC, along with Martin Luther King, III, and other leaders in the community against hate crimes and racial attacks around the country. The revelation of your conversation came at a time that is most frightening to a lot of people because we are in a state of crisis with the proliferation of racial attacks, hate crimes, and bias incidents in the United States and abroad. In fact, Abraham H. Foxman, the Executive Director of the Anti-Defamation League and I released an unprecedented joint statement today because of this climate. Even more concerning to me though is that the Justice Department and the federal government have failed to intervene in cases all over the country of racial bigotry and hate which is the reason we are having our march on Nov. 16th in front of the Justice Department.
As a Minister I would be inclined to meet with you despite the racist and grotesque things I heard you say, but I am not willing to rearrange my schedule around the country building up for this march to do so. If you wish to meet with me somewhere on the road that is fine, but be assured that I will not sanitize the kind of hate language that leads to the hate action that has left so many people vulnerable in America today. The company that airs the show has the right to take steps by any means when there is a public display of a character of bigotry. We did not call on your company’s action but we will not call against your company’s action, because what was said in private is now public, and they have a right to deal with their public perception.
If you are sincere that this does not reflect you, you should not only meet with us, but you should march with us on November 16th and call on the government of the United States to protect people, that unlike you don’t have publicist, don’t have lawyers, and don’t have any protection. They used to have the protection of the United States government.
In Progress,
Reverend Al Sharpton
President of National Action Network

Why Are They Always Sorry, AFTER They're exposed?????

'Dog' Chapman sorry for using N-word

source
HONOLULU - TV bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman on Wednesday apologized for using the N-word repeatedly in a profanity-laced tirade during a private phone conversation with his son that was recorded and posted online.

Chapman, star of A&E's hit reality series "Dog the Bounty Hunter," responded after The National Enquirer posted a clip of the conversation in which Chapman uses the racial slur in reference to his son's black girlfriend.

TMZ.com reported A&E suspended production on the series, the cable network's highest rated show, pending an inquiry. A&E did not immediately return phone messages seeking comment.
The recording was first posted online by the Enquirer. It was unclear who recorded the conversation or how the tabloid obtained the 1 1/2-minute clip in which the N-word was used six times. A woman at the Enquirer said no one would be available to comment after hours.
In the conversation, Chapman urges his son to breakup with his girlfriend. He also expresses concern about the girlfriend going public about the TV star's use of the N-word.
"I'm not going to take a chance ever in life of losing everything I've worked for 30 years because some (expletive) n--- heard us say 'n---' and turned us into the Enquirer magazine."
In the clip, Chapman also stated he doesn't care that his son's girlfriend is black and it wasn't about race.

In a statement, the 54-year-old Chapman said he has "utmost respect and aloha for black people who have suffered so much due to racial discrimination and acts of hatred.
"I did not mean to add yet another slap in the face to an entire race of people who have brought so many gifts to this world," he said. "I am ashamed of myself and I pledge to do whatever I can to repair this damage I have caused."

Chapman said, "My sincerest, heartfelt apologies go out to every person I have offended for my regrettable use of very inappropriate language. I am deeply disappointed in myself for speaking out of anger to my son and using such a hateful term in a private phone conversation."
Chapman said the clip was completely taken out of context.

I was disappointed in his choice of a friend, not due to her race, but her character," he said. "However, I should have never used that term."
Chapman said he is meeting with his spiritual adviser, Rev. Tim Storey, who is black, and hope to meet with other black leaders, "so they can see who I really am and teach me the right thing to do to make things right, again."

"I know that all of my fans are deeply disappointed in me, as well, as I have tried to be a model for doing the right thing," he said. "I did not do the right thing this time, and hope you will forgive me."

The Honolulu-based bounty hunter first grabbed headlines for apprehending serial rapist and Max Factor heir Andrew Luster in Mexico in 2003.

Thanks Grandma!

Tool Time: Woman, 75, Takes Hammer Down To Cable Office

-A Virginia woman is in trouble with the police after her frustrations led to an incident with a hammer and a cable company computer.

source: myfoxdetroit.com

MANASSAS, Va. -- Mona Shaw, 75, was so fed up with her cable provider in Virginia that she decided to take some serious action (Video: MyFoxDC).So she took a hammer down to the Comcast payment center.Shaw figured her age would keep her from getting in too much trouble."At 75 ... I figure they're not going to hang me," she told Washington, D.C., FOX affiliate WTTG.
******
Grandma Shaw did what most of us have felt like doing.
Scaring the crap out of poor service reps.
she's a hero in my book! Of course, I don't condone giving people heart attacks, or panic attacks for that matter-but I am a proponent in "making my presence known/felt." Amen, Grandma Shaw...i'm on your side!!

Priority #1-Not the U.S.A, but the Mrs. (and they call us "ghetto," and "uncouth?!")

Well it looks like Rudy Giuliani's , presidential candidate, weakness is still women. So much in fact, that during a speaking engagement with the NRA (National Rifle Association for those unaware) his wife called him during his speech (who does she think she is-doesn't she know he's a public speaker?!), and he not only answered the phone but he engaged in conversation! (excuse me?!). Everyone knows the NRA do not play, and he better thank his heavenly Father-that he didn't catch 6 bullets to his cell phone hand! I'll thank Him on his behalf---

Thank you Lord, for being the soothing balm on the NRA's itchy trigger fingers!

Can you imagine him as President and during the middle a very important press conference, his wife calls and he answers?! I shudder to think. Let this be a foreshadow of things to come, if this man is chosen as President. You can only ride the wave of 9/11 for so long before that comes to an end-Guiliani. Get it together and tell that woman to send you A TEXT MESSAGE (when you can't speak on the phone) or better yet CALL DURING THE RIDE TO WORK, ON BREAK, ON LUNCH, OR ON THE WAY HOME- like the rest of WORKING AMERICA!! As a customer, I know for a fact you can get an unlimited text msg pkg w/T-mobile for $14.99.
Guiliani needs to pull the reigns in on that one!

You don't believe Guiliani's capable of something so tacky? Well neither did I until my mama enlightened me. I present to you the evidence:
