Barbara Wa-Wa Confessed She Got Her Swirl On...

I admit it...this totally surprised me!

Ms. Barbara "I keeps it real, while keeping it cool" Walters, admitted during a taping of an Oprah Winfrey Show episode-that she got her interracial swirl on with a black senator, Edward Brooke, back in the '70's.

**ok, i just saw the senator's pic...he could definitely pass for white...so i can see why she went there-seriously**

Brooke then:

Senator Edward Brooke

Brooke now:
The image “http://www.urbanhealthcast.com/IAMMM/EdwardBrooke170.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Babs reluctantly ended the affair after a friend urged her to, and said it would destroy her career. What's a non-black woman to do in those times? End the affair.
He definitely was a looker...girlfriend had great taste.
So far there's no word from Brooke's camp...but really-what is there to say almost 40yrs later??
let sleeping dogs, and affairs lay.

I just don't like when people 'air their dirty panties' as a promotional tool.
Babs has a book coming out, called "Audition" and I guess she decided to throw everyone a bone so we can get the book. I'm not an autobiography book fan, but I might check it out at the library...only bcuz i know soooo little about Babs.

Are YOU going to read the book??

Talk About Keepin' It Real!

This is a case of :
AND WHAT? and NOW WHAT??
And I LOVE IT!
Before little dirt sniffing snoops, and player-haters alike can get paid from divulging ugliness that involves the Patersons, newly appointed NY Gov. David Paterson beat those crackheads to the punch!
lol
You won't be gettin' a fat check off of their former marital issues!
Uh-oh...there's always their former lovers, who should go into hiding right about now, who can be wooed with the right amount of zeroes on a check.
smh

art.patersonswornin.ap.jpg
Gov. David Paterson and his wife, Michelle, have reportedly acknowledged infidelities.

It's not often you hear about the wife doin' her thang on the side (not saying it doesn't happen, just saying we don't hear about it too often), but I give this power couple credit because they went through one of the most betraying circumstances in a marriage, worked it out, acknowledged it in public and took power away from paparazzi crackheads, and opportunistic crackheads at the same time!
ba da ba ba baaaaaaa, I'm lovin' it!

We know it's not over yet...and dirthounds are gonna come a sniffin' but for right now, they're alright in my book.
Gird your loins Patersons, and buckle up!
It's gonna be a bumpy ride as the lil pitbulls and rotts come nippin' at your backsides!!

Kwame, Gone Still Have This Chile On Payroll-Please Believe it!

UPDATE:: Beatty has accepted full responsibility for her actions in the Kilpatrick/Beatty tryst. See the words in bold font in her resignation letter, below.
CHRISTINE BEATTY RESIGNATION LETTER:

January 28, 2008

Dear Mayor Kilpatrick,

I would first like to thank you and the citizens of Detroit for the opportunity to have worked for the city that I love so much over the past six years.

Serving as Chief of Staff for the Kilpatrick administration since 2002 has been an honor and a privilege. I was born and raised in Detroit and my childhood goal was always to serve my city. I came back home after college to do just that. Serving our citizens and helping to transform Detroit into an even greater city is what I've been dedicated to everyday since January 2002.

As Chief of Staff, I managed key city departments in such areas as human services and labor relations as well as administering the day to day operations of the Mayor's office. I've served the administration and Detroit citizens with diligence, strength and perserverance and I hope that my efforts will one day show through above all else.

In spite of this, however, I believe that it is clear I can no longer effectively carry out the duties of Chief of Staff. Therefore, this letter serves as my resignation effective, February 8, 2008 to allow for an orderly transition of my duties with the new chief of staff. I painfully regret the devastation that the recent reports have caused to the citizens of Detroit, to my co workers, to the Mayor's family and to my family and friends.

Again, I thank you and the citizens of Detroit for the opportunity to serve.

Sincerely,

Christine L. Beatty

(AP) - Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick's chief of staff says she is resigning amid allegations raised last week that she and the mayor lied under oath about an affair.
Christine Beatty said today in a letter to Kilpatrick released by his office that her resignation is effective February 8th. Beatty says she believes it's clear that she can no longer effectively carry out her duties. Kilpatrick spokesman James Canning says the mayor's office had no comment on the resignation. A prosecutor on Friday launched an investigation into the allegations. They came to light when the Detroit Free Press reported details of sexually explicit text messages between Beatty and Kilpatrick. source

Text-Sex Scandal Makes National News

* STEVE WILSON: Text Msg Sex Scandal

Hours after the Detroit Free Press revealed racy text messages between Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and Chief of Staff Christine Beatty, the shocking story is making national news.

See Video

DETROIT (AP) — Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick exchanged romantic and sexually oriented text messages with a top aide, contradicting their denials in court that they had romantic ties, the Detroit Free Press reports.

In a story on its Web site Wednesday night, the newspaper quotes from exchanges between Kilpatrick and chief of staff Christine Beatty. Kilpatrick issued a statement Wednesday night saying the messages "reflect a very difficult period in my personal life."

Last summer, Kilpatrick and Beatty testified in a police whistleblower lawsuit and denied any sexual or romantic ties in 2002-03.

Mike Stefani, a lawyer for the officers, asked Beatty if she and Kilpatrick were "either romantically or intimately involved with each other" during the period covered by the case.

"No," she replied.

Stefani asked Kilpatrick if he was "romantically involved with Christine Beatty" in 2002-03.

"No," he replied.

At another point in his testimony, Kilpatrick expressed anger about claims of an affair between him and Beatty.

"I think it was pretty demoralizing to her — you have to know her — but it's demoralizing to me as well," the mayor said. "My mother is a congresswoman. There have always been strong women around me. My aunt is a state legislator. I think it's absurd to assert that every woman that works with a man is a whore.

"I think it's disrespectful not just to Christine Beatty but to women who do a professional job that they do every single day. And it's also disrespectful to their families as well."

But the Free Press said it examined about 14,000 text messages on Beatty's city-issued pager from two months in 2002 and two months in 2003 and found many examples of such ties.

Kilpatrick is married, and Beatty was married at the time.

"I'm madly in love with you," Kilpatrick wrote on Oct. 3, 2002.

"I hope you feel that way for a long time," Beatty replied. "In case you haven't noticed, I am madly in love with you, too!"

On Oct. 16, 2002, Kilpatrick wrote Beatty: "I've been dreaming all day about having you all to myself for 3 days. Relaxing, laughing, talking, sleeping and making love."

In a statement released by his office Wednesday night, Kilpatrick said: "It is profoundly embarrassing to have these extremely private messages now displayed in such a public manner.

"My wife and I worked our way through these intensely personal issues years ago. I would now ask that the public and the media respect the privacy of my wife and children and of Christine Beatty and her children at this deeply painful moment for our families."

Wayne County prosecutor's spokeswoman Maria Miller declined comment on the legal implications of the report. Conviction of lying under oath could bring up to 15 years' imprisonment.

When asked if the prosecutor's office would open an investigation into possible perjury, Miller said: "We have not received anything from anyone. Other than that, we have no comment."

In the civil case, a Wayne County jury awarded $6.5 million to two former police officers in the lawsuit against the city and Kilpatrick.

The jury said Kilpatrick and the city unlawfully dismissed two officers — Gary Brown and Harold Nelthrope. The men claimed they suffered after looking into alleged wrongdoing within Kilpatrick's security unit.

The events happened in Kilpatrick's first four-year term. He was elected to a second term in November 2005.

The Free Press didn't explain exactly how it obtained the text messages, but said it was outside a lawsuit it filed to get all records related to the settlement the city reached with the two officers. The newspaper said it cross-referenced the text messages with the mayor's private calendar and credit card records from that period to verify events in some messages.

You can only lie for so long before those lies catch up with your behind!
i gotta feeling Kwame's wife is going to go out like Lionel Richie's ex-wife, and tag that behind!
It's one thing to know your hubby's a sniveling, lying, cheating dog-allegedly, but it's another having to read the intimate, sordid details between the sniveling, lying, cheating dog-allegedly- and his skank.
Who wants to read that mess??
Kwame's wife doesn't come across to me as stupid, but then again, I didn't think P-diddy's baby mama Kim was an idiot either-so the jury's still out on this one.
I believe in the power of forgiveness-but that scoundrel was laying up with his *garden tool* and Mrs. Kwame had to deal with 3 testosterone filled boys!
Excuse me?!
Must be nice to have authority to abuse and BELIEVE it'll NEVER come back to haunt you.
Get outta here, Kwame!
The city of Detroit would be A BIGGER FOOL than Mrs. Kwame, if they vote that overdone windbag, back into office.
Give me a break!
Kick his uncomfortably built behind to the curb-where he b'longs, and he can take chicken head with him!

Briefing Costs FEMA Spokesman New Job
source
WASHINGTON (Oct. 29) -- The man who oversaw public affairs at the Federal Emergency Management Agency when it held a fake news conference last week will no longer be taking over as head of public relations for the director of national intelligence. Pat Philbin, FEMA's external affairs director, was scheduled to become director of public affairs for National Intelligence Director Mike McConnell on Monday. It was not immediately clear whether he offered his resignation or was fired just as he was set to begin the job.

As of Sunday, officials only said that they were aware of concerns. But Monday, the director of national intelligence office issued this statement: "We do not normally comment on personnel matters. However, we can confirm that Mr. Philbin is not, nor is he scheduled to be, the director of public affairs for the office of the director of national intelligence." FEMA Director David Paulison said Philbin sent him an e-mail in which he took full responsibility for last week's staging of the news conference. FEMA, part of the Department of Homeland Security, called a news conference Tuesday in Washington on the agency's handling of the California wildfires. The agency said no media representatives showed up because the conference was announced at the last minute. Instead, reporters called in on a phone line but couldn't ask questions The agency released a video of the conference with FEMA employees asking less than hard-hitting questions. Deputy Director Harvey Johnson, who was fielding questions, gave no indication at the time that staff members were asking the questions. He later apologized, calling the fake briefing an "error in judgment." "I am calling to apologize and say it will not happen again," Paulison said in a phone call to CNN. He said rules are changing to prevent any reoccurrence. Reporters will be given at least an hour's warning before a press conference and those calling in will be able to ask questions in the future, he said. Paulison said he is continuing to investigate. He said he understands that FEMA officials did not plan to ask questions and did so only when reporters failed to appear.

Disciplinary action is being taken against some FEMA employees, he said. Another official said that reprimands have been issued and more may be coming. Johnson "really didn't have an awareness" of what was taking place, according to Paulison. The FEMA director said Johnson wasn't familiar with everyone in the press office and did not recognize staffers asking questions. "He just feels sick about it," Paulison said. "He feels his credibility has been hurt." However, reporters noted that Johnson called on at least one person by name. FEMA generally received high marks for its response to the California wildfires after fierce criticism over its handling of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, but Paulison said he was sure the conference flap has had a bad effect on morale. "The last two years of planning for a major disaster fell in place," Paulison said. "Things were working as they were supposed to ... and that just killed everything you tried to have happen." The head of homeland security also has blasted the fake news briefing and said those behind it showed "extraordinarily poor judgment." "I think it was one of the dumbest and most inappropriate things I've ever seen since I've been in government," Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said Saturday. The White House said it was unaware of the briefing beforehand. "It is not a practice that we would employ here at the White House," said press secretary Dana Perino. "We certainly don't condone it."

What did he think would happen, if caught?
A Macy's Parade??
That was very stupid, and careless.
And right on the eve of assuming a new position?
Hmmmmm, that sounds suspect.
Just a smidge.
I believe that winners never cheat, and cheaters never win...
having said that, I'm playing angel's advocate-
If he'd go to such lengths as putting on a fake news conference,
what kind of devilment has he done in order to assume his formerly new position as head of public relation, for the director of National Intelligence.
Ohhhhhh, if walls could talk. :)
