Last Update on Riley Sawyers aka Baby Grace until these jokers are sentenced**Contains Graphic Detail on How child was hurt*

Due to the nature of this case, I will not post any further until these jokers are sentenced ...unless it's extremely relevant to Riley Ann

(CNN) -- Before dying, two-year-old Riley Ann Sawyers was beaten with belts, picked up by her hair, thrown across the room and held under water, according to an affidavit from the Galveston County Sheriff's Office.
Police believe 2-year-old Riley Ann Sawyers is "Baby Grace."
The affidavit says the mother, Kimberly Dawn Trenor, described to police how her daughter died and was put in a plastic storage box that the mother and her boyfriend, Royce Zeigler, later dumped into a Galveston waterway.

Trenor told police Zeigler tried to commit suicide the weekend before Thanksgiving, and wrote a note that said "My wife is innocent of the sins that I committed."

The body of the then-unidentified toddler was found on October 29. A fisherman found Riley's body stuffed inside a blue Sterilite plastic container that washed up on an uninhabited island in Galveston's West Bay.

A medical examiner said the child's skull was fractured, and a forensic dentist estimated her age at 2 to 3 years.

Police dubbed the child "Baby Grace." A police artist's sketch of her was widely circulated in the news media, and prompted a call to Galveston police from Riley's grandmother in Ohio, who had not seen the girl in months.

On Saturday, police arrested Trenor and Zeigler on charges of injuring a child and tampering with physical evidence, the sheriff's department said. Their bonds were set at $350,000 each.

The affidavit, obtained by CNN, says when police interviewed Trenor on November 23, she "gave a voluntary statement on video with her attorney present where she described her involvement with Royce Clyde Zeigler, II, in the physical abuse, death and disposal of the remains of her daughter, Riley Ann Sawyers."

Trenor's statement said on July 24, she and Zeigler both beat the child with leather belts and held her head under water in the bathtub. She said Zeigler picked the girl up by her hair and also threw her across the room, slamming her head into the floor.

That night, Trenor's statement said, she and Zeigler went to a Wal-Mart and bought the Sterilite container, a shovel, concrete mix, and other supplies. The statement said the box containing the child's body was hidden in a storage shed for "one to two months." Then, Trenor said, she and Zeigler carried it to the Galveston Causeway and tossed it in, and she saw it drifting away.

Riley Ann's father, Robert Sawyers, on Monday tearfully remembered her as a "fun-loving girl ... with a big imagination." Video Watch Riley Ann's father describe the little girl »

Riley Ann was "very active, very hyper, but also very well-behaved," Sawyers told reporters in Mentor, Ohio.

She would play "with a water hose ... spraying the whole patio soaking wet until she was done with it," he said, as he sat behind two photographs of his daughter, a toddler with wispy blond curls.

Robert Sawyers' mother, Sheryl Sawyers, said the family was "devastated" to learn that police believe Riley Ann is dead.

"It's hard to think that I'll never see her again," she said, clutching a red Elmo doll she had planned to give Riley for Christmas.

Maj. Ray Tuttoilmondo of the Galveston County Sheriff's Department said Monday that authorities are "fairly confident" that the toddler whose body was found on October 29 is Riley Ann Sawyers.

DNA analysis is still in progress to confirm the identification. The results will be available in two to three weeks, Tuttoilmondo said.

Tuttoilmondo said Riley Ann was originally from Mentor, Ohio, a Cleveland suburb, and that "she and her mother came down to Texas earlier this year."

The toddler was last seen in Texas "three or four months ago," Tuttoilmondo said, although he did not know by whom.

Tuttoilmondo said police did investigate whether Child Protective Services had taken Riley Ann away, something the mother had reportedly alleged. Of that report, Tuttoilmondo said, "What we believe is that is not what happened."

Sheryl Sawyers said it didn't make sense that authorities would remove the girl without an investigation.

"None of it made any sense," she said of Trenor's story.

Trenor left Ohio in late May, after filing an allegation of domestic violence against Robert Sawyers and reaching a joint voluntary agreement that gave her custody of Riley Ann and gave Robert Sawyers visitation rights, the Sawyers' family lawyer said Monday.

"She disappeared," Laura DePledge said Monday at the Ohio news conference with the Sawyers.

DePledge said the Sawyers had no knowledge of Trenor's whereabouts after she left Ohio. Sheryl Sawyers said Monday that she saw widely distributed police sketches of "Baby Grace" and contacted Galveston police in November. The girl in the police sketches strongly resembles photos of Riley Ann.

"No, I never did think it would end up like this," Sheryl Sawyers said Monday, eyes welling. "I guess knowing is better than not knowing."

The girl's family in Ohio has been "very helpful" in this case, Tuttoilmondo said, adding that the FBI and a Galveston County police officer visited the family in Ohio on Sunday.

DePledge said Riley Ann was the product of a "teenage pregnancy." Trenor and Robert Sawyers were together for two years as a result of the pregnancy, DePledge said, during which time they lived with Sheryl Sawyers.

DePledge said Monday that the family, whose grief she described as "simply overwhelming," wants Riley Ann's body returned to Ohio for a memorial service. "What Riley needs is to be brought home," she said. "I think this family needs some closure."

Tuttoilmondo asked anyone who knew the child or her family to help detectives reconstruct the events of Riley's short life

The toddler's case has touched even hardened police officers, he said. "Any way you look at it, we carry a piece of her with us, and we'll always carry a little piece of her with us," he said Monday.

He held up a small, pink-and-white shoe identical to those the child was wearing when she was found. "That says it all. A little-bitty shoe."

TIKI ISLAND, Texas - Residents held a memorial service for "Baby Grace," a young girl whose remains were discovered inside a storage box that washed ashore on Galveston Bay.

The toddler, found by a fisherman a week ago, remains unidentified despite hundreds of tips that have come from around the country since authorities released sketches of her on Friday. Authorities said forensic dental examination narrowed the girl's age to between 2 and 3 years.

At Sunday's memorial service, mourners gathered around a 4-foot-tall wooden cross bearing the words "In loving Memory of Baby Grace." The cross was later taken by boat to the small uninhabited island where the child's body was found.

"This is not the place to end this little girl's life," said Maj. Ray Tuttoilmondo of the Galveston County Sheriff's Office. "We won't quit until we figure it out."

The county Medical Examiner's Office ruled the child had been dead for at least two weeks. The cause of death was not determined, but she had a skull fracture and authorities are treating the case as a homicide.

Whose Child Was This???

Composite sketches released of girl stuffed in box
(edited by Ivent)

The sketches, released Friday, show a girl with long blond hair, in a pink shirt and a matching skirt -- clothes she was reportedly wearing when she was found.
A forensic dentist has narrowed her age to between 2 and 3, the Galveston County Sheriff's office said.

Earlier, a self-described "cynical old cop" gently held a tiny shoe decorated with purple flowers as he begged for help in identifying the dead child Galveston police have dubbed "Baby Grace."
"She is more to us than just a case number, more to us than just an unidentified body. She is very much a human being," said Maj. Ray Tuttoilmondo of the Galveston County Sheriff's Office.

"She is someone's child, someone's grandchild, someone's cousin, someone's best friend, and to us, that is the most important part about this case," Tuttoilmondo said.
"We have adopted the name of Baby Grace because, there again, that is part of the emotional part of this case for us," he said, holding the sneaker identical to one of those the child was wearing when she was found Monday.

A fisherman became very upset after discovering the girl's body, in a large blue Sterilite plastic container, on an uninhabited island in Galveston's West Bay, Tuttoilmondo said.
Contact Sheriff's OfficeTo offer tips, contact the Galveston County Sheriff's Office at 409-766-2222 or 866-248-8477.

A fishing tournament with hundreds of contestants was held over the weekend in the area where the girl's body was found. Police said they hope to track down contestants who may have seen something. Some of them may have fished near the site of the discovery.

"If we can get to every single person, that's exactly what we're going to do," Tuttoilmondo said.
The Galveston County medical examiner has said the child suffered skull fractures, but that he found no other broken bones.

"Anything relating to chronic abuse, old injuries, things like that, those are parts of the investigation that we still need to look at," Tuttoilmondo said.
The Houston Chronicle reported that the medical examiner said the girl had been dead for at least two weeks when her body was found.
"I don't often make an appeal of emotion, choosing to stick with the facts of the case as we should," Tuttoilmondo wrote in an e-mail to local reporters.
"However, a case such as this draws out emotions in all that touch it, even us cynical old cops. I ask that you buck the system and include the emotions you, like me, are experiencing in looking at this case, as a parent, a child, one who has children as part of your life or just as a human being."
Police have received hundreds of calls about the case, he said. "A number of them we followed up on have led us to go check on other children. Fortunately, we found all of them safe and sound, but nothing that's absolutely made a home run hit yet."
Other callers have wanted to know how they can help. Some have offered to donate graveyard plots for the child and have volunteered to help sift through information.
"The community where we are is a very close-knit, solid community, and they're all more than willing to help," Tuttoilmondo said.

Tragic. God bless that baby.

*It's M.M. Monday!*-Saw IV Kills 'Em Over The Weekend! *Graphic Photo*

*Who's Surprised?? This is the most well written, plot-twisting, gut-clenching, keeps you guessing horror movie of all time!*

Moviegoers Feast on Serial (Killer)

source

Los Angeles (E! Online) - Would-be Oscar contenders are flatlining. A writers' strike is looming. On the bright side, serial killers are still money.

The Jigsaw-graced Saw IV topped the weekend box office with $32.1 million, per estimates compiled by Exhibitor Relations Sunday. The bow was Hollywood's biggest in more than two months.

Steve Carell, meanwhile, saw a nice but unspectacular debut for his non-serial-killer entry Dan in Real Life (second place, $12.1 million).

The opening was the smallest of Carell's still-young career as a movie star—even the much maligned Evan Almighty, for instance, started off with $31.2 million. But for a fall film in a fall that's been quite unkind to movies about people who don't kill vampires (30 Days of Night), slay zombies (Resident Evil: Extinction), wage a vigilante war on crime (The Brave One) or engage in an Old West gunfight (3:10 to Yuma), the gentle comedy-drama posted the season's biggest debut behind only Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married? and The Game Plan.

That said, Dane Cook, who costars as Carell's brother in Dan in Real Life, saw a bigger opening for his much maligned star turn in Good Luck Chuck than Carell and company saw for their better-reviewed film.

Then again, Good Luck Chuck opened bigger, and has made more money to date ($34.8 million), than most of the season's offerings, especially the star-driven Oscar vehicles, à la George Clooney's Michael Clayton (sixth place, $5 million; $28.8 million overall), Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal's Rendition ($2.3 million; $7.7 million overall) and the Ben Affleck-directed Gone Baby Gone (seventh place, $3.9 million; $11.3 million).

The list of A-list fall bombs goes on and on, per Box Office Mojo stats: Halle Berry and Benicio Del Toro's Things We Lost in the Fire ($715,000; $2.8 million overall); Cate Blanchett's Elizabeth: The Golden Age ($1.6 million; $14 million overall); and Brad Pitt's The Assassination of Jesse James ($430,000; $2.9 million), the smallest grossing film of its star's career, by a lot, in 14 years.

The fall has been so brutal that not even the magic words Ben Stiller comedy worked on audiences. In its fourth weekend, Stiller's The Heartbreak Kid ($1.8 million; $35.1 million) slipped out of the top 10 and into a coma.

Even the art-house circuit has been hit. Ryan Gosling's Lars and the Real Girl ($952,000, $1.4 million overall) isn't blowing up. Ang Lee's NC-17-rated Lust, Caution ($471,000; $2.8 million overall, per Box Office Mojo) isn't heating up. And Wes Anderson's The Darjeeling Limited ($1.7 million; $6.1 million overall) isn't expanding, even as it moved into wide release for the first time in five weekends.

By comparison, by the time Anderson's The Royal Tenenbaums moved onto 600-plus screens back in 2002, the movie, which was also in its fifth weekend, grossed $8.5 million, bringing its overall total to $20.7 million.

Given all the grim stats, it was no surprise that the box office posted its sixth straight down weekend when compared to last year's totals.

And more bad news for Hollywood might be on the way in the form of a midnight Halloween strike by union screenwriters. The good (or bad) news for moviegoers is that there are plenty of movies in the can or in the works should a walkout happen.

Saw IV, for one, tried its grisly best to help out, opening in line with 2006's Saw III ($33.6 million) and 2005's Saw II ($31.7 million).

Eighty-three-old director Sidney Lumet (Dog Day Afternoon, Serpico), meanwhile, showed the youngens how it's done, posting the weekend's best per-screen average for his latest, the heist drama Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, which took in $73,500 from only two theaters.

Here's a rundown of the top 10 films based on Friday-Sunday estimates compiled by Exhibitor Relations:

1. Saw IV, $32.1 million

2. Dan in Real Life, $12.1 million

3. 30 Days of Night, $6.7 million

4. The Game Plan, $6.3 million

5. Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?, $5.7 million

6. Michael Clayton, $5 million

7. Gone Baby Gone, $3.9 million

8. The Comebacks, $3.5 million

9. We Own the Night, $3.4 million

10. Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, $3.3 million

Why Are They So Surprised???

TYLER PERRY 'MARRIED' TO TOP OF BOX OFFICE: Madea-less film opens at No. 1, beating Clooney's 'Clayton' and 'Blanchett's 'Elizabeth.'

Who said Tyler Perry couldn't top the box office without Madea?
After a heavy marketing push from Lionsgate that included promotional appearances on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," "Regis & Kelly" and the late night talk shows – not to mention Perry's own e-mail plea for folks to see the film during opening weekend – "Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?" debuted as the No. 1 weekend film with $21.5 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.
The movie, starring Perry, Janet Jackson, Malik Yoba and Jill Scott, came in well ahead of George Clooney's critically-acclaimed legal drama "Michael Clayton," Cate Blanchett's period piece "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" and the Joaquin Phoenix/Mark Wahlberg crime saga "We Own the Night."

Though "Tyler Perry's Daddy's Little Girls" had a luke warm opening earlier this year, "Why Did I Get Married?" joined his previous Madea-starring hits "Madea's Family Reunion" and "Diary of a Mad Black Woman," which also opened at No. 1.

Disney's "The Game Plan" starring The Rock fell from its box office perch last week to No. 2, as of Sunday afternoon. But its $11.5 million was neck-and-neck with "Michael Clayton's" $11.1" in ticket sales, according to early estimates. Exact rankings will be available later today.

Sunday's estimates are as follows:
1. "Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?", $21.5 million. 2. "The Game Plan," $11.5 million. 3. "Michael Clayton," $11.01 million. 4. "We Own the Night," $11 million. 5. "The Heartbreak Kid," $7.4 million. 6. "Elizabeth: The Golden Age," $6.2 million. 7. "The Kingdom," $4.6 million. 8. "Across the Universe," $4 million. 9. "Resident Evil: Extinction," $2.65 million. 10. "The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising," $2.15 million.
