So This is What $14m babies look like...

Well here they are...the $14m babies-Knox Leon & Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt

I don't believe if celebrities are paid for their children's pics-they're selling out.

The kids' pics are goin to be taken anyway-at least the parents can maintain a semblance of control re: their pictorial debut, instead of letting bootleg paparazzi hit paydirt!

IMHO, I think the celebrities who consider getting paid for their child's pic as selling out are the ones who either weren't (A) approached about their child' pic or (b) were low-balled.

I mean, u can use that money and put in ur child's trust account...what's wrong with doin that??

That's what i thought.

They are just 3 weeks old, but twins Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline are about to take the world by storm.

Look at tow-headed Shiloh in the upper right corner.

That baby know she has some soup coolers on her! lol

For more on the Jolie-Pitt clan check out People.com. People Magazine will be featuring an impressive 19-pg spread on the family, which will be hitting newstands EVERYWHERE, tomorrow.

Unlike most other celebs who were paid for the babies, the Jolie-Pitt fam donated every red cent to charity.

*note to self...get 501c3 and email info to Jolie-Pitt, IMMEDIATELY*

LOVES IT!

Hopefully, my girl Zahara will smile a little more...or not! lol

More News On: CHARLES LEE THORNTON

Once ‘jovial’ Thornton grew increasingly confrontational in years leading up to shootings
source

Charles Lee Thornton had a long and tortured legal history with several of the people he confronted or killed Thursday night at City Hall in Kirkwood, Mo.

A review of federal and state court records Friday showed an escalating series of legal and personal confrontations between Thornton and public officials in Kirkwood.

But the fatal conflict baffled at least one lawyer who knew Thornton and once represented him during a civil lawsuit against the city for malicious prosecution. Irwin Roitman, a St. Louis lawyer, described Thornton as “intelligent” and “jovial.” Roitman said he never had the impression that Thornton was, in any way, violent.

“I remember being in the courtroom one day with Mr. Thornton, the building commissioner and some other officials, and there wasn’t the slightest indication he was hostile or aggressive,” Roitman said. “He was upbeat.”

Some city officials shared that sentiment. Testifying in state court last year, a city employee recalled that until the year 2000, Thornton was “always fun to run into” and “always had a funny word or a good greeting.”

But that began to change in 2001, when Kirkwood prosecuted Thornton, who owned a small construction firm, for dozens of municipal code violations, including illegal dumping and improper storage of building materials. He eventually was fined more than $18,000, which he never paid.

And twice during that period, Thornton was convicted in municipal court of assault and battery on Ken Yost, Kirkwood’s public works director, whom Thornton fatally shot Thursday. The municipal judge fined Thornton $2,000 for those assaults.

Incensed at being convicted of the code violations — the court fined a co-defendant only $1,296 — Thornton opened a legal and personal battle with the city.

He filed a lawsuit making civil rights and malicious prosecution claims against the city. A Missouri appeals court threw out the lawsuit in 2005, describing his pleadings as “incomprehensible.” Roitman had left the case two years before when Thornton began ignoring his legal advice and filing his own motions with the court.

Thornton also had begun attending City Council meetings regularly and occasionally addressing the council during public comment sessions.

Court records filed by the city said that while his behavior was sometimes disruptive, Thornton never was banned from the meetings.

The city’s patience ran out in the spring and early summer of 2006. Twice during council meetings, Thornton rose to discuss his complaints with the city. In later testimony, Thornton said he was mad “because of the city’s constant harassment, bogus tickets, document fraud and perjury.”

Thornton framed his complaints in harsh, racial terms, saying the city had a “plantation mentality” and alleging that the rules for addressing the council favored white people.

At one meeting, Councilwoman Connie Karr, whom Thornton later would kill, complained to Mayor Mike Swoboda that Thornton’s bluster offended her.

And at both meetings, Swoboda, whom Thornton later would wound, ordered Kirkwood Police Officer Thomas Ballman to remove him. In both instances, Thornton went limp, and officers dragged him from the meeting in handcuffs.

A municipal judge subsequently sentenced Thornton to four days in jail and fined him $799 for two disturbing-the-peace convictions.

Ballman also died in the shooting Thursday.

In January 2007, Thornton sued the city in federal court, alleging it had abridged his First Amendment right to address the council. source

This is An Encore Post::::Deidra of Black & Missing...Still Going Strong!

A little over a month ago, I posted about a young lady named Deidra who has dedicated her blog to missing black people. She's done what mainstream media has REFUSED to do...REPORT OUR MISSING PEOPLE. I felt she deserved a repost. Family, PLEASE add Deidra to your blogroll, and visit her blog and get some of the stories and post them. We never know what may come of it.
Thanks-Bria :)
It's your time to shine, Deidra :)

Mz. Deidra of 'Black And Missing'
A Voice In The Wilderness...

***
While working on the post for Karyn McConnell Hancock, I researched via Google, the subject of missing black women and little or no media coverage.

Imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon a blog that is dedicated to missing/found/or recovered black people who's garnered little or no media attention.
Check out Mz.
Deidra's blog and add it to your blogroll:
Black and Missing, but Not Forgotten

The dedication that's necessary to continually update a blog of this type is nothing short of divine.

Deidra refers to herself as "Just a concerned black female :)"
I beg to differ.
Deidra has chosen to become a warrior in the fight against disparate treatment of minorities in the media-and has wielded her blog as her weapon.

And for that I say

Not only is keeping up this type of blog an arduous one, but it can be frustrating, as well as rewarding. Check out an interview with Deidra: Deidra Speaks. I too remember the case of Stepha Henry and the planned interview surrounding her disappearance. I also remember MSNBC decided Paris Hilton going to jail took precedent over a black woman who was missing.
Ratings wouldn't be high enough.

I was heated!

Deidra, I just wanted to throw some love your way...I can't imagine how much comfort you've brought to the missing people's families and loved ones-knowing they indeed are not alone.
God bless you!

Hmmmm...Wonder How Much the Police Spent on the Nailahs and the Latashas who went missing???

Police spent $250,000 searching for Chicago woman

CHICAGO — Family members arranged a meeting at an undisclosed location between investigators and a married woman from Illinois whose disappearance on Christmas Eve prompted a costly search.

Anu Solanki, 24, met with law enforcement officials at an undisclosed location Friday, said Cook County sheriff's police spokesman Steve Mayberry.

"I don't care why she left," her brother, Dhiren Patel, told reporters. "Hey, she's alive. That's the most important thing."

Cell phone records indicated Solanki had left voluntarily with a 23-year-old male friend from California, authorities said earlier Friday. Mayberry did not know whether the friend, Karan C. Jani, had returned with Solanki.

"As far as I'm aware her physical condition is fine," Mayberry said. "At this time she hasn't been charged with anything."

Anu Solanki's car was found Monday in a forest preserve parking lot, triggering the search by police and relatives, who distributed flyers with her picture.
***
Solanki's husband, who lived with his wife near suburban Des Plaines, was not aware of her friendship with Jani, Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart told reporters.

Anu Solanki's car was found Monday in a forest preserve parking lot, triggering the search by police and relatives, who distributed flyers with her picture. A sheriff's department helicopter was also used in the search.

Authorities spent about $250,000 on the search and in investigating Solanki's disappearance, Dart said.

Her family had expressed relief and asked Solanki to contact them.

Her husband, Dignesh Solanki, had said his wife may have been placing a religious statue in the Des Plaines River on the day she went missing. The statue of the deity Ganesh, revered as the Hindu god of good fortune and wisdom, had broken and a religious leader told them that placing it in the water would ward off bad luck.

Authorities said earlier this week that they feared Solanki might have slipped underwater and drowned while placing the statue in the current and divers also searched the river for signs of a body.

The Solankis were born in India's Gujarat state, and were married Oct. 6, 2006. During a second Hindu wedding on May 6 in New Jersey, the Ganesh statue played a role in the ceremony, Dignesh Solanki has said.

Dart said authorities did not know how Solanki and Jani met, but the cell phone records suggested they had been in contact for about a year.

Anu Solanki called a friend Monday afternoon and said four men were following her, then called back saying they were not following her anymore, relatives have said.

Jani placed several cell phone calls to Anu Solanki while she was at work at a Wheeling hotel Monday morning, the sheriff's office said in a statement. Solanki may have met Jani a short time later that day, then left the area with him, officials said.

Jani is a recent graduate of University of Southern California and may still live in California, although authorities said they were still trying to determine where Jani now lives.

It's a beautiful thing, knowing your loved one is safe and alive.
I'm happy for Anu's family.
I just wish, the police would be as aggressive when a black person goes missing.
You're happy when you hear of someone being found alive, but then you're upset when you how about the lengths law enforcement will go to for
certain people.

$250,000?!
That could've done a lot for those young missing black women. smh
I'm sure Deidra of Black and Missing have a couple of ideas!

What In The Crack-Heroin-Hell Is Wrong With Amy?!

Lord, I know that no one knows the time of your return,
but I'm begging you to come sooner rather than later --everyday we see things that are pointing to the imminent day of your return! If you're not coming today, can you PLEASE...JESUS PLEASE TAKE THE WHEEL, SNATCH THE WHEEL OUT OF AMY WINEHOUSE'S HANDS!! in your name I pray! amen

I like celebrity news! I like it simply because I'm NOT a celebrity.
Having said that, I was cruising thru dlisted.com, and read a post on Amy Winehouse.
Ok, cool. The post made reference to her drug use (old news), but upon further reading the poster was mentioning Amy was supposed to be performing. Ok. Amy's onstage, Amy has a microphone posted in front of her, musicians are playing their instruments, and the background singers (Jamaican, African perhaps??) are doin' their thang.

Everybody's handlin' biz.
Except Amy.

Amy, it seems, is more interested in her beehive/storage space.
There seems to be a treasure of some sort hidden
in that teased,back-combed treasure trove, and Amy's intent on finding whatever goody awaits her.

Well, the goody turns out to be a drug of some sort.

SmileyCentral.com

There's NO WAY you'll misunderstand what you saw, this is unbelievable!

In the MOST CONSPICUOUS MANNER, Amy Winehouse pulls the drug out of her 'hive, holds it in her hand, and as if she's in a crackhouse, proceeds to snort it.
RIGHT THERE ON STAGE, DURING A PERFORMANCE, ON CAMERA FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE!

I'm pissed, scared, and confused.
How in the world can her bony body ingest that much drug??
What is she not wanting to deal with?
What happened to Amy that she chooses to self-medicate herself into a bloody stupor, and why are promoters, record labels etc exploiting her and scheduling her for shows when she's under the influence?? Many times, she's incoherent. You can't make out the lyrics of her songs.

Lord, please this pray is for Amy, Lindsay, Britney, Tracy Morgan, and other celebrities who riding a meteorite straight to self-destruction.
Someone call A& E for a "Celebrity Intervention!" Stat!

Once Again, the minority is the majority (in prison that is)

Supreme Court Looks at Crack Jail Time Discrepancy (emphasis by Ivent)

source
One of the issues now on the table before the U.S. Supreme Court could help alter one of the largest stigmas affecting the black community: imprisonment.

The astonishing 100-to-1 powder-to-crack sentencing ratio has been furiously debated since the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1986, back when crack in black communities was still considered an epidemic and the government declared a war on drugs.

The truth is, crack remains a problem of epidemic proportions. It increases the prison population and ruins lives and families.

Since the mid-80s, thousands of black men have been convicted and locked up (many times on first offenses) because they possessed large an amounts of crack under these strict statutes.

It was quickly observed in the drug culture and through prison statistics that whites and Hispanics get busted for powder cocaine three-to-one compared to blacks, but face less jail time under sentencing guidelines for basically the same controlled substance.Currently, there is a 5-year minimum prison penalty for possessing 5 grams of crack (that's more than an eight ball in the street). While for that same 5-year sentence a defendant would need to possess 500 grams of powder cocaine. That's a big, drug dealing, bag of cocaine we're talking about.

Over 5,300 people were sent to jail last year for crack cocaine violations, double the numbers from the early 1990s. But the disparity comes in when you realize that more than 80% of crack offenders are black.

For people like Walter Kimbrough, the Gulf War Veteran who sparked the Supreme Court case, a ruling that would reduce that ratio could mean the difference, on average, of nearly 37 months in prison.

Kimbrough, was found in possession of a weapon and 56 grams of crack, 6 grams over the limit for a 10-year mandatory minimum sentence. The judge ruled that the law was too harsh and instead gave a lesser sentence, sparking a firestorm that has made its way to the Supreme Court.
Hopefully this case will finally address one of the most blatant racial discrepancies ever created. Crack derives from cocaine it should be treated so. The government needs to end this inadequate sentencing because it is a mockery of justice and it overwhelmingly ignores those whom it affects ... the black community.

But according to the Washington Post, even if the justices give judges more flexibility under the sentencing guidelines, the mandatory minimums will still stand. Several bills to make those minimums more reasonable are pending in Congress, with bipartisan sponsorship.

***
My opinion.
There are those who toot, snort (whatever u wanna call it) 'caine who believe they're not as bad off as those on crack. Some people (ignorant ones) still believe it's a drug for those of discriminate taste...and you can't become addicted.
Isn't DENIAL a sign of addiction? Cocaine use, is prevalent among professional, white collar workers.
Excuse me, what color are the collars of lawmakers???
Ok...rest my case.
Have you seen a tooter in cocaine addiction?
Lawdy, they can't carry on a 5 minute conversation w/out having to excuse themselves to the restroom, like 12 x's.
They're fidgety and are always doing something with their nose (sniffing, rubbing it, something!).
We won't even talk about the paranoia.
Now. How is that better than crack??
You betta recognize, we're not the fools you think we are!

MEDIA ADVISORY

WARREN BALLENTINE "THE PEOPLE’S ATTORNEY" IS CALLING FOR ALL AFRICAN AMERICANS TO PARTICIPATE IN A NATIONAL BLACKOUT"

WHO: Warren Ballentine "The People’s Attorney" and radio Truth Fighter is calling for National Blackout throughout America.

WHAT: Warren is calling for a National Blackout that is necessary for African Americans, and is long over due. Especially with all the present injustices that are being allowed and accepted in America right now. From the situation with Mychal Bell and the Jena 6, Genarlow Wilson, Megan Williams, and all of the nooses being hung all of America lately. Until we have federal legislation regarding hate crimes as African Americans we need to band together to show our "Economic Power" by refusing to spend ANY money from fast food restaurants to gas.

WHY: As African Americans we spend an estimated 715 billion dollars a year, and if we were to stop spending for one day that is 2 billion dollar that will not in the system. However we ask that you don’t make a mad dash to the stores days prior or the days following. If the stores have a major increase in sales right before or right after the Blackout than we will create the impact we need.

WHEN: Friday, November 2, 2007

WHERE: Nationwide Blackout for ALL African Americans
****
America, for those of us who couldn't participate directly with Jena6...here's another chance. We want to put a dent in retailers' pockets. One thing i've noticed people are QUICK TO COMPLAIN, but slow to act. Here's your chance to be counted. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING ON NOV 2ND. It's one day. SHOP BEFORE, AFTER, OR BOTH.
Parents...please teach your children about history.
We have some of the clueless (i.e., dumb) children walking around here, because PARENTS, GUARDIAN ETC do not TALK TO THEIR CHILDREN.
Spread the word...DO NOT MAKE PURCHASES ON NOV 2ND.
Stop talking...and start walking. Be counted.

File This Under: Stop Talking Out of The Side of Your Neck!

FOX HOST BLAMES RAP FOR OHIO SCHOOL SHOOTING: Conservative says he knew shooter was white because 'hip-hoppers don't kill themselves.'
source: eurweb.com

*Conservative Fox News Channel host John Gibson is making headlines for his comments about the recent school shooting at predominately black Success Tech high school in Cleveland.

During his nationally-syndicated radio show on Wednesday (Oct. 10), Gibson said he knew the shooter, student Asa Coon, was white because after the rampage, "he killed himself."

Authorities say Coon had guns in both hands as he fired shots on the school's third floor, wounding two teachers and two other students before killing himself.
"Black shooters don't do that; they shoot and move on," Gibson said on his show.

Defending his comments the following day, Gibson said Coon's suicide did not fit the mold of a "classic hip-hop shooting," once he read the student was a fan of rocker Marilyn Manson.

"He killed himself. Hip-hoppers do not kill themselves. They walk away," Gibson explained. "Now, I didn't need to hear the kid was white with blond hair. Once he'd shot himself in the head, no hip-hopper."

Gibson went on to insinuate that hip hop may have influenced Coon to launch his assault.
"I mean, where do they think these kids are getting these messages of, you know, loading an extra shot in their mac?," Gibson said before playing a portion of 50 Cent’s song "Fully Loaded Clip."
"I got a fully loaded clip. Why would you think African-American kids would be so enamored with messing around with guns? …I mean, it's only in every third hip-hop song," Gibson said.

Gibson further explained: "I'm being accused of being a racist for making this observation about an issue we've been talking about here for over a year, and that is the black-on-black boundaries of the African-American community. They don't shoot somebody and then say, ‘Oh, I'm so unhappy. This is such a scar on my soul, I've got to shoot myself in the head.

’ Am I right about that or wrong about that?..Gangster shooters don't do that. They're happy they got off the first shot. They're happy they killed the guy they were aiming at. They get in their car, and they move on down the road, probably looking over their shoulders a little bit." ***

Uhhhh, sounds like he's watched "Boys In The Hood" too many times.
Or is that "Scarface."
I mean, who is he? The unofficial authority on black people??
Did he put on a black face and go undercover??
lol, give me a break!

He Shot WHO 3 Times?! -UPDATE 2: JEALOUSY + GUN=DEADLY COMBINATION

(Tyler Peterson- gunman, killed 7 people including himself, below)

Wis. AG: Deputy Shot Himself 3 Times

credits: AOL NEWS, AP (edited for content by Invent)

CRANDON, Wis. (AP) - An off-duty sheriff's deputy who killed six people apparently shot himself three times, with the last shot hitting him in the right side of the head, the state attorney general said Tuesday. Tyler Peterson, 20, shot himself twice under the chin before firing the third and fatal shot, Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen said.

Peterson also was shot once in the left biceps from a distance. The six people who died early Sunday were either students or recent graduates of Crandon High School, where Peterson also had graduated. They were at the house to share pizza and watch movies during the school's homecoming weekend.

Peterson died in the woods near a friend's home in Argonne. The lone survivor was scheduled for surgery Tuesday. Van Hollen said Peterson went to Jordanne Murray's home about 2 a.m. and argued with her after accusing her of dating someone else. Murray demanded Peterson leave, and he did, only to return with an AR-15 rifle.

"He didn't speak, he simply opened fire," Van Hollen said. Investigators found three bodies on or next to a couch - Lindsey Stahl, 14; Aaron Smith, 20, and Bradley Schultz, 20. Murray, 18, was found in the kitchen. Lianna Thomas, 18, was found in a closet, and Katrina McCorkle, 18, was just outside it. Both had apparently been trying to hide, Van Hollen said. The last person shot was survivor Charlie Neitzel, 21. He pleaded with Peterson after the first shot, only to have him fire again, Van Hollen said. Neitzel fell to the floor, where he lay still as Peterson fired a third time. "Playing dead until Peterson left, Neitzel survived," Van Hollen said.

It wasn't clear whether Peterson was struck in the biceps before or after he shot himself. The shootings devastated Crandon, a tight-knit town of 2,000, where many people knew at least one of the victims. "It's an unbelievable, nightmarish thing," said Pastor Bill Farr of Praise Chapel Community Church, which all of the victims' families attend. "I keep thinking, like many of the families, that I'm going to wake up and this is not something that happened, that it's just going to be normal again. That's not going to be the case."

The victims' families have met with Peterson's family and "hold no animosity toward them," Van Hollen said. The families, the church and the town's one funeral home were still working on funeral arrangements Tuesday. Farr's wife, Sjana Farr, said Peterson's family had requested his funeral be last out of respect for the victims' families.
************
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the Crandon, WI victims. I pray that our Father in heaven, has mercy upon Tyler. Father, you knew what he was thinking. Though the crime was heinous, your blood covers even that sin. I pray that your peace be upon the families affected and they'll have peace that surpasses all understanding in Jesus' name.
Amen.
