Bynum's husband sued for $90,000

source

The husband of national evangelist Juanita Bynum is facing another court battle — this one from a former employee of Global Destiny Church who claims he owes her $90,000.

A civil case has been filed against Bishop Thomas W. Weeks III by a woman who says Global Destiny failed to reimburse her for items she was asked to purchase on the job for Weeks and his church. The plaintiff, Suzanne Ellis, alleges in a lawsuit she used her cash and credit cards to help Weeks with supplies.

Attorney for Ellis, Louis Levenson of Levenson & Associates in Atlanta said his client left her job after she was not paid back for the expenses.

"There was no written agreement but in the past she was reimbursed for the very same things," Levenson said.

Levenson said in the lawsuit that Ellis made the arrangement with Weeks with the "expectation that she would be paid back."

She is seeking the repayment of $88,556.28, plus applicable interest, attorney's fees and any other relief "the court deems just and proper," Levenson said.

The attorney did not know what items were purchased for Weeks.

The lawsuit, which was filed last month in Gwinnett County Superior Court, names Weeks and his church empire, Global Destiny Inc. as the defendants in the case. Weeks launched his ministry in Duluth with his famous wife, Bynum, an author, gospel singer and pastor.

After purchasing the supplies, Ellis made "multiple demands" that the money be repaid and she was not reimbursed, the court filing stated.

Randy Kessler, an Atlanta attorney representing Weeks in his divorce case said he was unaware of the civil case, but doubts the merits of its claims. "That doesn't sound like the bishop I know," Kessler said.

Weeks has suffered with money problems since he and Bynum separated. He was evicted from his $2 million country club estate in Duluth last June and was threatened with eviction from Global Destiny in August because of outstanding lease payments. He later made payment arrangements to keep his church and return to his home.

Bynum filed for divorce from Weeks after claiming that her husband allegedly choked, beat and stomped her to the ground in an Atlanta hotel parking lot on Aug. 21. Weeks was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and simple battery in connection with the incident.

The bishop has denied the abuse. Last week, he made an appearance on the television magazine show "Inside Edition" alleging that he, too, suffered abuse at the hands of Bynum.

Bynum is currently being featured in a two-part series in Essence magazine dishing about her stormy relationship with her husband. The couple wed in 2002.

Pay or Don't Come To This Church??

Drumbeat to my blogmama Lynn over at Hicktown Press , for bringing us an old article, yet new to many of us! Check out an interesting read from Afromerica.com...when will this ever end? Below is the complete story, but here's the link if interested:

oh,It's Like That, Juanie B?

**Obviously it's an older story...look at the photo**

weeksbynum (13K)Church Sells Memberships

An eyewitness to one of many abominable mega-church worship practices has come forth to share with Afromerica an incident that should not go unnoticed or unpunished. While attending the church of Bishop Thomas Weeks and Juanita Bynum early Sunday morning, the witness said that sister Bynum told the prayer group that they needed to purchase a t-shirt with the church name on it. And if they did not purchase one, they could not attend next week's prayer meeting.

One does not have to be a religious holy roller or a Doctor of theology to know that no one has the authority to keep people from God's church. If they want to pray at church, there should be no purchasing prerequisites for doing so.

This witness also told that a few months ago while visiting the church, Bishop Weeks told the congregation that if they did not pay their tithes that day, that they would be receiving a letter in the mail at their home telling them they could no longer come to his church. Ain't this a blip? Who in hell (no pun intended) does he think he is?

So Afromerica decided to research this so-called mega-church of God. While visiting the church website, Afromerica discovered that this organization is not out for the purpose of saving souls, but obviously - by the set up of the website - to make money, money, money. Visit the site.

This type marketing and advertising of God's word is a disgrace to religion and a destructive force in the Black community. These people should be stoned, and yes, Afromerica said it. There is no fear of God's wrath against what we said because if God were a just God, he would know that this ministry of Weeks and Bynum is more of an abomination than telling the truth about it.

OHHHHHH...HE....IS...GOOD!!

*smh*
You know what? If it wasn't for the eyewitness at the hotel, and the police officer on TV, I'd call Junie B a LIAR!! I'd say..."Junie B! don't be hatin' on Bishop T!" I'm telling you, it is my HUMBLE opinion, after viewing this video, that "bishop" has found himself. He exudes a confidence, and assurance that I thought only came from ridin on Junie B's coattail. And we all know neither Junie B, nor her makeup, nor her coattails are within 1,000 ft of "bishop T," ok? Either he has done some type of repentance, or he's got a serious mentor cuz this man seems to be "free!" (I choose "B")
Well, I guess he is free in a sense...he doesn't have loudmouth Junie B around to worry his nerves. If I saw this video(below) before the attack, I would've said the story is made up and HE DID NOT STUMP HER VA-JAY-JAY!! But they say-say he stumped her in her va-jay-, and that's soooooo not o.k.k.k.
Check him out yourself:
