'FAMILY GUY'S' CLEVELAND GETS SPINOFF: Black character to star in own animated series.


Cleveland Brown from Fox Series, "Family Guy"

*Producers of Fox's animated series "Family Guy" will create a new spinoff series centered on Cleveland Brown, the slow-talking, accident-prone neighbor of main character Peter Griffin.

Tentatively titled "Cleveland," the new show will revolve around the Brown family, with "Family Guy" writer-producer Mike Henry continuing to voice the Cleveland character, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The most level-headed of Peter's friends, Cleveland is a 40-something deli owner who was previously married to Loretta Brown, whom he divorced in season four after discovering she was having an affair with one of his friends.

A Wikipedia entry notes: "Cleveland displays a political and cultural interest in promoting his fellow African Americans. While Cleveland's race seldom causes conflicts with his entirely white neighbors, and while he serves as President of the local Chamber of Commerce, he remains subject to different treatment by the local police.

An example was seen in the episode "Stuck Together, Torn Apart," where the machinery in a police car labels him as a minority suspect. Another episode, titled "Blind Ambition," showed Cleveland disagreeing with policeman neighbor Joe Swanson on how black strangers should be viewed in white neighborhoods (all in a symbolic, friendly discussion about a black bowling ball amidst white bowling pins).

"Cleveland" will be produced by "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane, former "Simpsons" writer and "American Dad" executive producer Rich Appel and "Family Guy" writer-producer Henry – who will also pen the series. There's no word on when "Cleveland" is scheduled to debut.

I'm not a regular viewer of Family Guy-I am familiar with Cleveland, though.
For some reason-not sure why-I'm uneasy.
Nooo, i'm not saying it's a conspiracy of the white man tryin ta keep us down yada yada yada...
but for some reason-shoot maybe it's a foreboding feeling of...Cleveland will probably end up getting cancelled.

After spending the better part of the day behind bars since being booked on suspicion of driving under the influence Tuesday morning, Barron Hilton posted $20,000 bail at around 5:45 p.m.

A trio of friends put up the amount through a bail bondsman after the Hilton family appeared content to let him spend the night in jail, as reported earlier by E! Online senior editor Marc Malkin.

Hilton exited the station through a rear door, jacket over his head, and hopped into a silver SUV with two guys and a woman inside, none family members.

Sources close to Paris Hilton confirm that Barron phoned her earlier Tuesday asking for help, but, at the urging of her parents, she declined to post bail for him.

"It broke her heart, but she did what her parents thought was best," the insider tells E! Online.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Officer Steve Whitmore said Barron Hilton's bail was upped to $20,000 from the previous $5,000 because he is now facing a felony charge of possessing a forged California driver's license in addition to misdemeanor DUI.

The third of Kathy and Rick Hilton's four offspring has been ordered to appear Apr. 14 at the Malibu courthouse.

And Barron Hilton's rap sheet could get meatier still if charges are filed in connection to the smashup the hotel heir was involved in shortly before his arrest.

Not long before Paris Hilton's 18-year-old brother was arrested, witnesses saw his black Mercedes E350—with an unidentified woman at the wheel—sideswipe a grey Ford Ranger pickup truck on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu and continue on its merry way.

The other vehicle's presumably peeved driver followed Hilton, who at some point returned to the driver's seat, and his cruising partner to a gas station on PCH, where authorities eventually caught up with them—although not before, according to eyewitness accounts, Hilton had a run-in with a station employee's leg.

Per the L.A. County Sheriff's report summing up Hilton's arrest at 8:05 a.m. for alleged DUI, the California Highway Patrol was investigating a possible collision that occurred while the unnamed woman was driving.

CHP Public Information Officer Leon Hines said the Mercedes bumped into the Ford at 6:10 a.m. while heading north on PCH just above Sunset Boulevard.

The driver of the Ford continued to follow the Mercedes to Coral Canyon at PCH, and that's where CHP responded to the call and began the preliminary collision report, Hines said. Neither of the drivers involved appeared to be under the influence.

As for the man whose leg got in the way of Hilton's car, he told the New York Post and TMZ that, after the impact knocked him over, leaving him with some bruises, two men jumped out of a Ford with a dented left side and grabbed the keys out of the Mercedes to prevent the car's occupants from driving away again.

The driver of the truck had called the police en route to the gas station, and he had Hilton wait it out on a bus bench until authorities arrived.

Hilton, who blew a 0.14 percent on a Breathalyzer test and was found to be carrying the fake ID, was booked into custody at the Lost Hills Sheriff's Station at 8:35 a.m. source

Introducing Billy Blanks, Jr...

U never know what you'll stumble across when you're blog surfing. Having said that, I was chillin' at one of my lil blog bros blog and learned, Billy Blanks' (of Tae Bo fame) son-Billy Blanks Jr (BBJ)- has an infomercial out. Who knew? I didn't know, cuz I don't watch TV. Well BBJ, is a browner version of his sister and his dvd looks easier and more engaging.

His dad's dvds almost resulted in my death. smh- But yet I made it through that fire!! His dvds work...but good googly moogly...I just started sweating thinking about Papa Blanks' dvds.

Anyhoo...check out baby Blanks' infomercial...there's a lot of dancing and singing (i can get with that)...but it does have a little cheese factor to it. His wife, actress Sharon Catherine (Brown) Blanks is an actress/singer who I remember from an episode of Good Times: Sharon appear'd on an episode entitled "Breaker, Breaker" where she and 'Michael' communicated with each other via CB radios and when they met in person, Michael was surprised to learn she was in a wheelchair. She STILL looks the same, eventhough she was 15 when she appeared on Good Times. For more info check out Sharon's bio

One thing I've noticed during my Tae Bo years-his daughter Shellie was always on the scene...but BJ wasn't. Shoot-you couldn't even find a pic of BBJ anywhere online until recently. Ok-but I digress. Snowbound family's 'Help' Sign leads to rescue!

(CNN) -- Stranded in the snowy California woods for three days after losing their way while searching for a Christmas tree, a father and his three children fashioned a "Help" sign out of twigs on a nearby unpaved road, according to the helicopter pilots who found them.

The four sought shelter from the snow in a culvert and removed their sodden socks in an effort to stay warm and dry while they waited for rescue, the pilots said.

Frederick Dominguez said that during the three-day ordeal, he and his children slept inside a log for warmth and ripped apart their shirts to wrap their wet, freezing feet.

"You just go to survival mode," he said. "Every parent would do that. You would do anything, sacrifice yourself, because these are your kids."

Dominguez and his children -- Christopher, 18; Lexi, 14; and Joshua, 12 -- were reported missing Monday night by Dominguez's former wife and the children's mother, Lisa Sams, according to police in Paradise, California, a town of 27,000 people about 90 miles north of Sacramento. "I'm glad I'm home. Praise God," Dominguez told reporters after exiting a chopper at the command post. "It was awful."

Asked how he survived, he replied, "Jesus Christ."


Dominguez said he used branches and sticks to spell out the word "help" near the culvert, where the three slept the last two nights -- at times sleeping with their feet inside each other's shirts to help stave off frostbite.

He said his daughter was the first to hear a California Highway Patrol helicopter overhead. He said he ran though several feet of snow barefooted to wave it down.

"When they turned around, man, I was just praising God and saying, 'Thank you Lord, thank you Lord,' because I knew we had made it," he said.

Police vehicles equipped with snow chains rumbled up mountain roads to help conduct the search, which also involved a snowmobile and dogs. More than 80 searchers scoured the woods Wednesday until the four were found about 1 p.m. (4 p.m. ET).

Officer Steve Ward said he was piloting the helicopter out ahead of bad weather when he spotted Dominguez coming out of the culvert and waving. "We were very lucky that we just saw this guy at the last second."

Paramedic Flight Officer Dave White, who was with Ward, said that after the two shut down the helicopter and waved the family over, all four came running. "The little girl was in tears," he said.

White said the family was found north of where ground crews were searching. The pilots could see a "Help" sign they had made with twigs on a nearby four-wheel-drive road, he said.

Christopher Dominguez told CNN's Anderson Cooper the family got lost Sunday searching for a tree, which they had chopped down but later abandoned. He said they didn't have food, heavy coats or other provisions to help prepare for the cold nights.

"We weren't prepared at all," he said. "We just thought we were going to go up to the mountains, get our tree and go back home. It didn't turn out that way."

All four appeared to be in good condition as they were brought by chopper to the command post and taken to ambulances.

Wendy Wilson, the children's aunt, told CNN's Rick Sanchez the two younger children had some frostbite on their toes and a touch of hypothermia, but were expected to make a full recovery.

Butte County Search and Rescue dispatcher Madde Watts said, "they had angels with them, for sure."

The search riveted those in Paradise and beyond.

Mayor Alan White, whose son played soccer on the same team as Joshua last year, said he and many others in and around Paradise have cut Christmas trees in the same place where the family vanished. When winter weather sours there, he said, people in the woods can get lost quickly.

"If you're 50 feet from your car, you might not be able to find it," he said.

Although police found the family's car, it offered no clues as to where they might have gone.

The inaccessible area is beyond the reach of cell phones, authorities have said.

Paradise High principal Mike Lerch said students had volunteered to help in the search. "This is a good family," he said.

Christopher Dominguez had graduated from the school a few months ago, Lerch said, and Lexi is a sophomore there. Joshua attends Paradise Intermediate School.

What Would Jesus Download? More than a deeply theological question, it's the tagline for the fastest growing domain on the net, Godtube.com, a new social networking Web site that was recently spotlighted on ABC's nightline.

The most watched video on the site (viewed over 4 million times) features an adorable, ruby-cheeked 3 year old girl reciting Psalm 23. The little cutie is just one of the reasons Godtube.com, the answer to YouTube.com with a Christian slant, was ranked #1 of 1,000 Web portals as evaluated by Comscore Media Metrix (August 2007).

Dallas Theological Seminary student Christ Wyatt said his goal in creating the site was "to service the 2 million Americans who were searching for religious answers online." All the material is screened to make sure everyone feels welcome at his online abode.

This portal is definitely not a YouTube clone. A search using the word "Halloween" showed 20 pages of information on each site including the word. The subject was addressed differently on each site. For example, on You Tube a sexy model on a show called Hot for Words breaks down the Catholic origins of the now spooky day. On the other hand, in a video entitled The Truth About Halloween on Gospel Tube the speaker concentrates on the evilness of the day.

God Tube keeps a unique identity by being G-rated -- 100% family-friendly.

"We watch every single minute of every video. You can feel assured that when your kids go on Godtube.com not only is it safe, but they're getting a bit of Christianity as well," Wyatt said in an MSNBC interview.

The large assortment of content on the site that appeals to a broad Christian demographic might be another reason GodTube rules. It's practically a Christian video mercado dedicated to clean entertainment and evangelism. From the urban-inspired spoken word poetry and Holy Hip Hop music, to the classic sermons from the late Coral Ridge Ministries pastor Adrian Rogers, end time messages and international Christian news it is plainly a hang out for Christians or the
Christianity-curious. There is also a section for videos to be uploaded En Espanol.

BRUNSWICK, Ga. — Six-year-old Christopher Michael Barrios was laid to rest Thursday, a day after a convicted child molester and his family were indicted for sexually abusing and killing the Georgia boy.
According to an indictment issued Wednesday, convicted child molester George Edenfield and his father took turns sexually assaulting Christopher while the molester's mother watched, then they choked the boy to death.
The indictment charges all three family members with murder and child molestation in the slaying of Christopher, whose body was found March 15 inside a trash bag dumped by a roadside.
District Attorney Stephen D. Kelley said he will seek the death penalty against 32-year-old George David Edenfield, who has a prior child molestation conviction from 1997, and his parents, David and Peggy Edenfield.
"This is one of the most horrific crimes that I have seen in 21 years of prosecutions," Kelley said.
Christopher went missing for a week before police found his body about three miles from his trailer park home outside Brunswick, a Georgia port city 60 miles south of Savannah. The suspects lived in a mobile home across the street from the boy's grandmother.

This is one of the most horrific crimes I've ever had knowledge of-be it an adult or child. This story was on foxnews.com 6 months ago, but it's still new to many of us. The enemy has not only declared war against Christians (which I am), but also against people of color (which I am also). People (color is irrelevant) we have to pray, we have to watch out for our children in the Village. It takes ALL OF US to raise one child.
